I wish I saw this earlier! We went away for a few days too, to Timaru. DD was still a bit twichy with every loud sound she heard so DH just sat at the end of her bed until she went to sleep.

I'm not sure how old he is but have heard on the radio heaps of kids are suffering from anxiety following the quake and its disrupting their sleep.

Can you sit with him for one night so he knows you are not going anywhere- or you could keep popping back in to tell him its okay?

We've escaped CHCH for a few days and are in Kaikoura. I've bought Thomas's favorite toys, books and music he listens to when he goes to bed, but he's absolutely beside himself and wont stay in the bed. Any help on getting him to settle would be greatly appreciated! I even tried bribery with a new toy when we go out tomorrow but it hasnt worked.
