It's the smell of the gas that is burning away and making the stink, mine does it too, I ventilate for the first 10 mins then shut the doors. We alway have a window open a wee bit as the tv aeril(sp?) goes through it. I use a gas heater without any problems. Rather than opening windows a crack when you have it on here is a tip: Put a bowl of water on top of it.

I have a gas heater on most of the time these days since its so cold and Zaara is fine. She was born in summer so never used it when she was tiny. Ok i wanted advice, at the moment its freezing and i have a pathetic little oil heater cranking and im not a good enough pyro to start the fireplace so what i want to know is if its true is it not safe to use a gas heater when u have a baby in the house? Want to check before i use it coz if its not i dont want to.
