Thanks erynolds - I'm in New Lynn so that would work.

1 problem is that the files have become corrupted and both IS at work and microsoft say there is no way they can be restored. :(

We also have periodic times where the keyboard stops working, and a lot of time the computer sounds like it's got a million processes going - is really loud, gets really hot and sometimes shuts itself down. Hubby recommends ETC computers- he goes to the one in New Lynn for parts etc, but there is one in Mt Eden too. He said they are cheap and very good.

Try ringing the support line for whatever brand of computer you have first.
