You can totally leave and come back they just need to tell you the exact time you need to be back (they normally tell you 10 minutes beforehand to make sure you are back and they are free from other patients).

I have had both the polycose test and the glucose tolerance test.

With the polycose (the 1 hr test) I could eat before and had to wait an hour, but could go away and come back. I didn't eat before the tests because I didn't realise I could.

With the glucose tolerance test I was not allowed to eat from 9pm the previous night and had to stay at the test place for 2 hours without leaving.

Grrrr, I just went to Labtests and ended up leaving because they needed me to stay for 1 hour..... If it is the one hour glucose test they say you can eat beforehand. However my midwife says not to, as it so often skews the results and then you have to do the 3 hour one (which is a fasting one).

If its your first one you don't need to fast, however I recommend you avoid OJ..
I know myself and one other woman failed ours after having OJ for breakfast.

Is it the normal one that you just rock up for (the first one?) if so, you can eat beforehand but dont have anything to sugary or it will bump your reading up!
