Picked up my meds this morning. I got Titralac tablets, an antiacid. I'm supposed to take them after food as needed, especially after my last meal at night or when I feel the pain come on.

You can buy them over the counter but they are subsidised for pregnant women and only cost me $2.

I'm to try them for 5 days and if pain is still there or gets worse I'm going to be referred for a scan of my gallbladder. I had gallstones confirmed post DS birth -am on the waiting list for surgery but consultant said they wouldn't do it if I got pregnant - which I did! Yeah was going to say gallstones! Just out of curiosity; what were you prescribed? Gall bladder/stones was indeed the verdict. I've been prescribed some meds to take after food PRN and avoid fatty foods. Yup sounds like gallstones, im having the same problem. i take pain killers to assist with the pain, that all they can do while your pregnant. Also asked to get referred for a scan to confirm that it is gallstones.

The advice i got was to stay away from fatty and acidy foods, i know hard when your pregnant right lol, but it does help alot.

Sounds exactly like the pain I had with gallstones too, mine got to the point where anything i ate triggered it, high-fat or not. Luckily it was just before i got preg, so they whisked me in and got it out pretty quick. It can be related to family history, but in saying that, noone in my family has ever had gallbladder probs, so it can be completely random too.

Sounds exactly like my gallstones/gallbladder pain. Very common in pregnancy and afterwards. Had my first attack during my pregnancy with DS and then no more til post baby. Poor you if it is - I can totally sympathise! Normally advice is to avoid high fat foods. Egg is a culprit for me. I found gaviscon helped a little but not sure why. Otherwise with being pregnant painkillers are a no-no.

Sounds like the trapped wind that I get. I have eno which makes me burp like crazy but does get rid of it. sounds like if its not your gallbladder its definately epigastric pain so could be stomach related, have you tried taking antacid sorts of things or has any pain relief eased it? talk to your dr if its intense you must be suffering!!

i have had seriously intense pain be trapped gas from when i was about 9w - 14 ishw, had it so bad as i was constipated also, and it was upper abdo across under my ribs, so its possible it could be that, but if your not getting any relief then definately see your dr..

Just wondering if anyone has felt this, and what it may be! In the last week I've been getting *intense* pain in my upper stomach, just below where my ribs meet, too high for it to be miscarriage related (I'm getting used to those pains ). Worse if I eat closer to lying down, better if I eat dinner three hours or more before bed.

It hurts so much I feel sick
