It was more sudden though, she was feeding in the morning and before her lunch time nap and before bed. She stopped wanting the morning and lunch feeds at the same time (ouch!) then a couple of days later she didn't want the night one either and that was that. I kept offering for the 11 days that it took my milk to dry up, but she would just laugh and wasn't interested. It was upsetting how sudden it was as I didn't get to gradually get used to the idea, but she also put on heaps of weight once she weaned (she was a tiny wee thing before) so no regrets, it was her decision

Over the last few nights she refused a second breast preferring to have a story book and then into bed. She's eating well at the moment and for the first in her life appears to be putting a bit of fat on.

Is this a normal part of the gradually weaning process? I had thought she'd keep this feed up for a long time! I feel a bit sad about it. I don't want to force it on her as this will make it worse. Any tips for encouraging her?

Looking on the positive I guess we are one step close to imdepence.
