Her temp finally broke this evening after some nurofen and then she was happy as and back to her normal self! I did ring the nurse again though and she said Im doing all the right things, but if I am worried bring her in. I decided she was ok cos she was drinking fluids and going wees etc

Caden chucked up water and banana at breakfast randomly! but after that he was fine and ate his toast, and has been fine since, but still had runny poos.

So I think tomorrow they both should be much better *fingers crossed*!! I hope Bella sleeps better tonight cos I am exhausted! Its been full on sickness since Monday

Thanks for asking

Definately take her to the doctor. If you can catch a poo and take it along they can do a stool sample.

When JJ had it, it started by him gagging and vomiting in his sleep. Then once it got going, it was FULL ON. Constant vomiting (couldn't even hold down water) for 5 days, and he started to come right on about the 8th day. He didn't even sit up for four of those days.

It was heartbreaking and I was glad we were in Starship when he got it. He ended up on an IV drip for fluids. I don't know how anyone would manage this at home.

I really hope this is just a normal tummy virus Sheena, I wouldn't wish the dreaded Roto on anyone.

Edited by kiwilaurie

But once we started givng her pedialyte she was still sick for 3 days afterwards, it hangs around for a while. I think after the diarrhea has stopped they are still catchy for 4 days after.

Edited by Mum2Keira

I think it was 6 days before it stopped and it was hideous. Sebastian had it when he was about 10 months old. It started very much the same way as Isabella. By 10.30am he was so dehydrated that the doctor sent him straight to hospital.

The way Sebastian was tested for Rotovirus was a stool sample. It wasn't detected in blood or urine tests that they did at the same time. He was in hospital overnight then was really lethagic and not eating for a further 5 days. It took about 7-8 days for him to be back to normal.

Good luck!
