I have an anterior placenta too, but am unsure as to whether I have felt anything yet or not! I've got an anterior and it took quite some time for me to decide if what i was feeling was baby or not.

The best advice i was given was that the first movements feel like a fish nibbling on the end of a fishing line (thanks Kelly)

ETA i am now 30 weeks and have been getting full on kicks for quite some time and can see baby moving from the outside very easily. So dont worry you wont miss out on anything!

I had anterior, first time I felt movement was 21w2d. I never got bubbles, it was a full on kick or punch and they hurt! Tonight while at our christmas dinner (before I had started eating) I felt something in my tummy. It felt like little bubbles popping or someone light tapping inside.
I have felt this a couple of times before but tonight was much more noticeable :D

I wonder if i have one this time too (haven't had a scan yet). With DD I felt the first movements at 14wks, this time have only just started feeling them this last week. I had an anterior placenta with my daughter and i still felt her move at 12 weeks (to the day). I could see her moving and feel it from the outside at about 17 weeks. So it didn't make any difference to me.

With my son i think the placenta was posterior. I had an anterior placenta with baby 2 and I felt her kick properly at about...20 weeks, but was feeling bubbles and stuff from 9 weeks with her!

Thank you ladies! Im glad to hear that most people having an anterior placenta still felt bubs move early on!

While reading this I had some more little "bubbles" that I have felt previously. Im not sure if this is gas or baby! I felt little bubbles from about 17 weeks and thought I felt a kick the morning of my anatomy scan. She kicked again during the scan and because I could see it at the same time that confirmed it. 22-23 weeks! Everyone was asking me sooner but mw told me to ignore it and that it was completely normal to not feel it until later. StephiG 14 weeks is still very early to feel movements especially with your first! There are a lot of things you can do to make baby move, supposedly. Like drink a cup of ice-cold water and lie down - there are lots more, other ladies will probably have suggestions. You can always give them a try and see what you feel.

But mostly its patience, grasshopper. I honestly thought i was never going to feel the big movements but now its like whole body parts popping out to the sides.

:D :D Im hoping they will come sooner than later. I think the reason I feel so down about it is that I was overweight to begin with (I dropped 15 kilos though then gained some back then got pregnant) which I have heard can make you feel movement later than other women who are slimmer, and then I found out I have this which can also make it harder to feel movements earlier. I am really hoping I get to feel baby move.
