You are right, daycare teachers are overwhelmed with too much chocolate and soaps, so such gifts would be unnecessary for them. I think a good idea is to by something for home, here is a shop with the best porcelain dinnerware, where you'll certainly find some unique set for your teacher. I bought a set here for my son's tutor, and she was impressed with it.

How come I never got pressies from my clients lol....sigh stupid job....but then I did work for council and that would be an awful lot of presents if every rate payer gave me something mawahahaha. One workplace we got gifts from the GM....bags...with logos of the workplace on...so lame....would have rather had the five bucks it cost for the bag. Im a daycare teacher and we have got lots of cakes, choccies this year but the best gift we got was a fruit tree that we could plant out in the playgound.

As a preschool teacher, my personal opinion is, it doesn't matter so much what the present is, just getting something, even if it's for all the teachers together, feels like we are being appreciated.
Even if it's just a card.

I love the potplant idea! Wish I had thought of that, I'm gonna keep that in mind for next year.

I don't know what to do this year either ... I gace them all a bottle of wine each last year and did a lipgloss/body wash/lotion pack the year before, but this year I have two in daycare and they're in different rooms so theres alot of teachers to buy for .... was thinking chocolates but maybe thats too boring ... so I'm not sure either?!

I bought some little potplants in glazed pots today. Have got the kids to write/draw (DD1 wrote a message to her teacher, other 2 scribbled!) with permanent markers on the pots to make them a bit personal. They look really cool

I've been looking at getting a box of choccies for the teachers and maybe a few books/toys for the actual daycare itself.
