I kept the hood down on our one coz really the hood is mostly for keeping the heat in I should imagine??

Poor wee things!

During the peak of our summer last year when Jackson was a baby his room would get over 30+ degrees. He was swaddled till 12 months so on hot days/nights I just swaddled him loosely and only wearing a nappy and sometimes a cotton vest singlet. I also had the fan on the fastest setting (great for white noise too). I also only used natural fibers on his bed (still do) and only dress him in natural fibers. I never worried about blankets or sleeping bags for summer. Jackson had his muslin wraps and a cotton sheet.

Make sure there is lots of air flow in babys room and lots of room for the air to move freely around the cot or bassinet.

I've just been putting a singlet and bodysuit on and a nappy, no sheets or covers but we do have to use a sleepbag (summer weight) because she won't sleep if she can see or play with her feet lol! I've found this to be enough clothes for her if it's about 24 degrees max, otherwise just a bodysuit and nappy.

Lily was in her cot until 3 months and she just wore a bodysuit and nappy and was swaddled in a cotton wrap and that was it. Same for night time and if it was a bit colder than 20 I would pop a woolen aircell blanket over the top. (She was a late summer baby).
Oh and I had the basinette in the coolest room during the day and our room was the warmest at night.
During the day now, because her room is so tiny (single size bedroom) it's the hottest room in the house until about 7pm.

I wouldn't bother with the moses basket though, she'll be out of it soon if you ask me.

Do you swaddle her? If you do have you thought aabout weaning her off this so she can sleep in just a nappy? If she can't then using a muslin wrap at most. I also have a fan in bubs room....

Her bassinett is just too padded and retains the heat.
I am looking at maybe a moses basket but think she will grow out of it too quickly. The other thing I was thinking would be to put her in a cot.
Any tips or other ideas?
