And I'm out for most the day today with all the doors and windows open (and DH at home of course).

Apparently flea bombs only get rid of live fleas -- the eggs live in the carpet so they hatch the following summer (with a baby in the house, nooo!) unless you get them properly exterminated.

It only cost $100 so not tooooo bad ... well that and the cost of hot water washing of all our bedding at the laundromat, and a new mattress protector!!!

Our work had a floor done and it was some like 6hrs for everyone else, 12 hrs for me (don't quote me on that). They had it done overnight.

Other than that we picked up a minor flea problem from open homes (I'm sure that's where they came from). Talked to a friend who works at animates, oh my there's a lot to know about fleas! I got the whole run down. (hope I remember this correctly and it is assuming you don't have pets in the house suppling new fleas)

Adult fleas can't live on a human for more than 6 weeks. Eggs can last a lot longer in soft furnishings/carpet.

Other than that, wash, vacuum and hope.

Drove me insane. Make sure that you vacuum each day after treatment for a few days and it may be necessary to get the house rebombed a week or so later as some fleas may not be killed. Unfortunately we didn't do this the first time we bombed our house and they came back.

Unfortunately they only seemed to love me and left my husband mainly alone.

I had our house sprayed while I was pregnant last time and know a couple of other people who have and were fine. And we've done flea bombs this time. I would think you're fine to get the house sprayed, just make sure you wipe down the benches etc well afterwards, and wash your bedding etc.

I'm absolutely covered in bites that are driving me mad with itching. I'm sure it can't be hygienic as skin is broken in places. I've called in an exterminator to spray the place, but now I'm worried that won't be safe either. I plan on being out all day (he's coming at 10am on Sat) but should I stay out overnight too? Or should I cancel cos it's too dangerous. And if I cancel what should I do to get rid of them?

Help!!!
