Just wanted to add Han's size in fuzzis... she wears a large and is on the second to last snap on one side (and one tighter on the other side) during the day and in a sleep nappy (read: as much stuffing as I can fit in the damn thing) she is on the second to last snap on both sides.

So, last I remember, Jake was a tad larger than Han. So yeah, definitely go with the extra large, especially if you are going to need to add heaps for night time.

He should fit an XL. My suggestion is get a night time trial nappy, and if its not a success then send it back (30 day money back guarantee) With the night time wetting you can fold one of the inserts in half and put it where he wets a lot (is it at the front for a boy?). i just did what Nikki suggersted minus the hot water. can't say it's made much difference but:
a) only did it last night and nappies are still outside and..
b) nappies didn't smell anyway. just did it to prevent.

I usually soak in nappisan actually but we had run out, so i've been using Pams (about $2 cheaper!!) but not sure it is as good.

Now that I've got you Aimee - I'm thinking of getting some Fuzzis for Jake. I figure he will be in nappies another few months full time and then probably at least a year at night...and then taine can have them. But he is a rather large boy (18kg) and he's not fat but solid. he's in the 13-18kg nappy range and fine with that - but he also wets a lot at night and we have to put him in specific night nappies or he'll wet and wake up (cosies if anyone is interested). I use Ecostore. If you wash them with your other clothes the other fabrics can coat the fleece on your Fuzzis. We have chubby thighs here too!

Liz - if you cant warm or hot wash, soak in a bucket of hot napisan, then just rinse and spin through the machine (no powder).

You don't have to hot wash, it just makes the washing stuff more effective apparently.

The washing powders designed for cold water have extra chemicals to make them more effective. So just give an extra rinse. Apparently you should wash them separately... (don't quote me on that, I remember reading it somewhere) I didn't use to, but since stripping them I have been, mainly so I don't use too much hot water, just do a load on low.

We rinse the nappies and soak the inserts (overnight) then chuck them all in with a hot temp white wash (we only have the white Fuzzis).
When I've been lazy *ahem* and haven't done a wash for a couple of days and the nappies pile up - I put them all through a hot wash with Eco Store Oxygen Whitener which apparently (according to Fuzzis) removes any build up. We haven't had many leaks since Caitlin grew into her Smalls

I use Persil Sensitive and have had no problems with mine - but I hardly put in any powder with them and wash them on warm or hot.

I used normal washing powder... after a while got build up and like gsmum's they reeeeked.

Stripped nappies by doing a hot wash with nothing in it, then adding 1/2 cup Baking soda and 1/2 cup of Vinegar in the final rinse, then rinsing again with cold.

Worked a treat!

The problem with using washing powder is that it can build up on the nappies.
