I would say it is the reflux.

If it isn't too hot a day/night, when you swaddle him and put him down try putting a heat pack on his tummy, and swaddling it there to stay put. Not too tight but just so he can feel it. A wheat bag is good, just make sure it is not too hot. The heat helps relax the tummy and makes them less uncomfortable.

KH when I pick him up he doesn't usually burp... Ricker, how did you know she couldnt handle pear, what were the signs? It does seem to be worse since introducing that.

I have tried coloxyl drops with not much success but I dont think Im using them consistently enough. DD was like that too with her reflux.
When she was really young she couldn't handle pear and i gave her losec in her bottle.
Another thing that helped her was sleeping on her tummy. I got told it was because of the pressure on the tummy/valve stopped the acid coming up.

What are you using for his constipation? If you pick him up when he is squirming, does he burp? If Zac is squirmy because of wind then he'll generally always do a burp when I lift him up and pat his back. Otherwise it could be anything lol!! I think it's the reflux. Cooper used to do this, I noticed when he was good he didn't squirm & when he wasn't good he could. I used to liken it to writhing in pain.

My DS who is 9 weeks old often wakes up squirming around and grunting/groaning, which eventually leads to crying. He also does it in his sleep at times so Im often jumping up only to find he's still sleeping but wriggling around uncomfortable as anything.

He is bottlefed and has a problem with constipation which we are working on, and I always think he has a tummy ache...

He brings up burps well, I burp him several times during a feed, and he seems to fart a lot.

Could it be trapped gas? If so what can I do? I have tried gripe water and infacol.... or could it be something else? I have tried biking his legs/lifting them around in circles but that hasn't worked for me yet and he just laughs when I do it, lol.

I think it is the reason he often wakes after one sleep cycle and is difficult to settle again after that...

He also has reflux but this is fairly well managed, he's on losec which is given with a tiny bit of pureed pear- could that be causing the problem?
