Pregnancy tests are most reliable from the first day of your missed period, although some tests can be used as early as four or five days before your period is due.

I used a FR dipstick and my positive line was darker then the control line. Then later on I used a different one(blue box from supermarket?)I was about 17w (just for fun coz it was a 2pack and a friend wanted to test so I did the other and it was pretty faint looking. Still a BFP (had to be I was quite obviously UTD) but yeah.

Maybe its just my pee but I HATE the FR supermarket tests.

Lunch time pee 1st day missed AF with Discover OneStep from the Chemist ($20) BFP! Happy Lady!!

2 days later, afternoon, Dr's appt. BFN! Lots of tears!

That night and FMU next day, 3x FR dipstick tests all BFN...

Following day Lunch Time, that night, next day FMU Discover OneStep from Chemist, all BFP very quickly, good solid dark lines.

Decided in the future Im never going to use anything other than Discover lol. I used the FR dipstick tests also. I used a two pack First Response midstream test, the first one came out with a dark control line and a faint positive line, I burst into tears and called the company demanding to know why they would make such an indecisive test.

Yep,really good, with my second I got a BFP at 8dpo at 3pm (so not FMU )

with this bebe I got a BFP at 8dpo at around 11am

I didn't get a BFP until I was 21DPO but I don't think that is a reflection of the test. I think maybe my hormone levels weren't high enough. When we were TTC I must have spent $100's on tests and the chemist told me that in his opinion the clear blue tests were the best. Im going to disagree and say they are crap!(the dipstick ones)

yes I have had BFP on them but I have also ha pink lines when I havent been pregnant, soooo many times, and I always end up getting AF bang on time, so was def never pregnant.

I would be more inclines to use the First Response MIDstream test, its exactly the same as the discover but hlaf the price, at only $10. These have never given me a line when Im not pregnant, and a definiate line when pregnant.

Thanks for your replies. I've just figured out that the supermarket sell 2 types of FR tests... mid stream (which I think is more sensitive) and the dip test (which I think is useless). Yep, it was with one of these I got my BFP, though admittedly it was 4 days after AF was due, so I don't know if that gives you much indicaton about their sensitivity... but a massive GL

Edited to add, the ones I used were the dipstick type.

I thought this was probably the best place to ask this question since you've all had your bfp's.

Has anyone used the First Response (3 pack) from the supermarket? Were they any good? I keep getting conflicting messages when I googled if they detected 25mIU or 100 mIU's.
