It goes straight through them!!  Apricot I used to soak and boil dried ones to add to chicken but only once he was eating meat proteins, so not till 7-8 months.  Melon he had in a mesh feeder, again watermelon goes straight through them too <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> Papaya is a good one to help with constipation <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"><br /><br />I'm surprised those fruits are suggested as first foods because as you say they're not exactly readily available year-round in nz.]]>

Has a list of ideal first foods (stage 1) and then stage 2, 3... <br /><br />But also mentioned was banana, apple, pear, pumpkin, kumara, potato. All pureed although was told not to start before 6 months but to start at 6 months when they were ready (confusing much!) so we started DD at 6 months (although suspect she could have gone longer without) and we ended up doing BLW instead on purees. ]]>
