Mason's always left in the back seat while Hannah gets out. He fell asleep in there the other day during our walk up to drop Hannah at kindy, so I left him and walked home. It was a nightmare, though, the pram kept tipping up at every bump/turn/downhill. Luckily it was only a 10 minute walk!!
I don't think he could tip himself backwards while sitting in the back.. but it does tip easily when pushed the right (wrong?) way.

My daughter can climb in and out of the toddler seat on the back without it tipping, thats with nothing in the front. I'm not worried too much it seems safe enough. Well, went out today and let JJ out of the front without tipping incident. So will just cross my fingers and hope for the best. I think there might be a weight limit for the backseat too. Maybe 14kg? once Sophie got to about 4 or 5 months she moved into the main seat and Amy was in the back. This was mostly Amy's choice as she realised that she was more likely to be let out to walk if she was in the back. After a while she flat out refused to go in the front *rolls eyes* This seems to be the case with just about everyone I know with a p&t.

When Sophie was smaller and still in the back I would put my nappy bag in the front seat where Amy had been. I loved ours, I had the baby lying down in main seat & then DS2 in the second seat in front. Then moved DS3 into the second seat in the back & DS2 in the main seat.

I never had issues with it falling over. LOL us too, seems to be a poplular way to go especially when they get older....Blair jumps in and out depending on how his legs are after a walk to town. Then again I only have a 4kg ish difference between the boys.

If you were wanting to keep your little one in the back while out and about, and was concerned about the tip factor then what about putting something the same weight into the front while your big guy is running around, (you may get away with keeping whatever in the basket underneath)

Is it a no-no because it can tip back?

I have my 19month old in the front and 5month old in the back. I am always letting the older one out to play at parks etc.Maybe have it next to a seat or fence...something it will tilt back on if it does loose balance.

Those of you that use a P&T buggy with doubles kit - can you help me with a question?

The heavy child has to be in front, which is cool now that Ollie sits up ok. But what do you do when the big kid wants to get out? For instance, we're off to the park soon and I want to be able to let Jackson loose but just let Ollie chill in the buggy. But then he'll be in the back on his own, and that is a big no-no according to Phil & Teds.

As I see it, I have a few options:
1) Move Ollie to the main seat - not ideal due to having to change straps etc
2) Move the doubles kit temporarily to the front, but again not ideal as I will have a shade over Ollie at the back.

Does anyone else have any ideas? What do you do?
