Author: millymollymandy
Subject: 38235
Posted: 02 March 2011 at 12:56pm

My DD has for the past 10 months been a champion sleeper, but for the last few days has been resisting her lunchtime nap. She's fine getting ready for bed but just cries as soon as I try and put her in there.

I have tried putting her down earlier and later, but nothing is working, she just screams and screams. Today she managed to push the side of the cot off. I put her in the stroller and she is asleep in 2mins, then I go round the block, park her up she'll sleep for a good 1 1/2 - 2hours, so I know she is tired and needs the nap. She settles fine at nignt and sleeps through.

The only thing that is a bit odd is that she has a cold, so am wondering if that's affecting her, I had her ears checked yesterday and they are fine.

Usually we do Verbal reassurance and she will go to sleep, but she is getting super worked up and not calming down. I do want her to nap in her cot, am pregnant with number two and very tired so I need that little bit of quiet time. Should I give the VR another good go once she feels better?

I guess I just need some assurance that this can be fixed and that she'll stop doing it once she's well or with a bit more work.
