Aotea lagoon has train rides on a sunday afternoon for $2 over age 2 - its one where adults can sit in it too.
Petone have an outdoor pool for toddlers. feed the ducks at botanical gardens. Tiny town in Kilbirnie is open on staurday mornings - better when walking though. Yeah we already do our groceries on sat morning.. DD doesnt seem to go nutso over it but it does keep us out of the house for an hour or so.
Good idea with the baking! I thought the smells of baking would make strong memories too, so thats nice
Ohh the pet shop is a great idea! I need to get more dog food anyway Great excuse!
Thanks SMS about the recommendation for junglerama, will have to check it out! And I thought of staglands today, but thought would wait till she was a little older to get more out of it? Hehe, so does my DD. Especially when DH takes her for some reason - would love to know what he does that's so exciting! She's in a great mood for a good couple of hours when they get home.

We also browse toy shops with DD and she tries out all these toys and moves on to the next one when she's bored. Tires her out good

We mostly do outdoorsy stuff though, and I'm a bit stuck really with the weather turning to crap. We do rug up and go to the park on dry, cold days though.

Ohhh, we bake together sometimes (well usually one of us bakes, the other baby-wrangles). You could try Junglerama. They have a area for under 4yrs but its designed for babies crawling. There is a ball pit and heaps of things to crawl over, under, through etc.

We took dd at around 10 months but she loved it.

Not sure if you have been before but its WAY better than chipmunks

Also the beach, you could try Staglands but that is quite far. The good thing about staglands is you get more up close with the animals. Sheep, birds etc walking around. We find one of DDs favourite outings, and has been since she was only a few months old - is the pet shop. She just LOVES looking at the fish, and it seems could watch them forever!

We try and do at least 1 family outing during the weekend - things we do are: visit a park to have a run around/explore ; playground; feed the ducks, go to the local pool for a swim, beach.

Then every now and then we do a special trip like to the Zoo, butterfly creek etc

DD is fast turning into a cafe queen, Dh and I go for a walk round one of the local parks then stop for lunch/coffee.

Yep we have Nic, love it more than the pram. I would say Zoo but unless you have a community services card it's $20 each ($13 with one). We've done the Zoo twice now.

Umm, swimming is always cheap and fun and lots of pools in Wellington.

Walks... Lots of walking tracks - Mt Kaukau, Colonial Knob (sp?) and I know you ordered a manduca? - Botanical Gardens is always nice...

Groceries... No joke, Lily LOVES it...

A combo of things really. We have a 3 year old too though so do things like the zoo, local nature reserve, go to the beach, go to the park, the local farmers market and then out for morning tea. Hang at home, do the gardening, in the sandpit. Our 10 month old is mainly along for the ride but gets quite a lot out of these things, especially if I sling him rather than buggy. What do you do in the weekend?
Im looking for some ideas as to what DH and I can do with DD in the weekend, we seem to get stuck sometimes doing the same things over again.
