Hi all just letting you know we are home.
So pleased we have our lil prince finally!! Operations went SOO well, Kalyx was born 11.59am 03/07/07 & was basically showered & walking that night. (Freak i no & i am taking it easy- promise!!) Working on the BF will keep you posted on that one. At the moment he is on formula via tube & cup. Enjoying him & will upload pics of my monkey when i have a chance, so much to do so little time

Hello

We home now

As Glow told you all our wee boy arrived yesterday morning.

I had the S&S on Fri afternoon, few niggles Fri night... woke at 1am with pains I couldn't sleep thru. Not wanting to get excited & go into the Annex to early I watched the rest of the America's Cup race then had a shower, jeepers that made everything a whole lot more intense I woke DP at about 3.30am, rang DD's dad to come get her & rang best friend/birthing helper told her she should come round soon!

Poor DD woke at about 4am (I guessing with all the noise ) came out to the lounge, put a hand on my arm & said 'it's ok Mummy'!! Aww I nearly cried She was whisked away by her dad.

DP rang MW at approx 4.10am & said we were on our way to the Annex, apparently my contractions were about 2 mins apart! I hardly remember the car ride!!

We got to the Annex at 4.15am where I was promptly put on a bed & given my BEST FRIEND GAS!!!!!!! MW arrived at about 4.45ish & told me baby would be here by sunrise.. I said when's that?? She said a couple of hours

I was kneeling over the back of the bed but MW couldn't find babies heartbeat & when she finally did it was very slow. I was quickly (as physically possible!) turned over & suddenly wanted to push.. 8 pushes later his head was out, with the cord around his neck... 1 more push and our beautiful boy was born at 6am & plonked on my tummy but very blue & very floppy so I got a quick cuddle while they clamped & cut the cord. He was then put on the resuscitation table & given oxygen for 2 mins. After that he was all good He weighed in at 9lb!!!

So much for not wanting to get to the Annex to quickly!! Nearly not quick enough

We had quite a good night considering Delivery Suite & Post Natal wards were all FULL... we got the last bed in the place!!

Now we're home & I feel like I've been away for weeks!!

I have got 2.5 days & will never give up hope on the VBAC. But if I "dont know how to roll" so be it!!
Kinda up in limbo really, enjoying the nostalgia about it all

Dont know what a baby coming feels like!?!

But the bull jumped the fence & got in early. CALEB JAMES HAS ARRIVED (8 days early) on the bedroom floor at home after a one hour labour.

Labour started at 4pm, he was born at 4.55pm, and was an unexpected home birth. The midwifes arrived 15 minutes before the birth with just enough time to have my neighbour and DD heat up the room and some towels, get hot water bottles ready and line the floor with plastic bags and old towels. DH arrived home with 5 minutes to spare, two big pushes and out he came.

Yay for Jess, that is so cool!!!

Well, back from the hospital and all is looking good. The mw and doctor were both lovely, really awesome friendly people who clearly explained everything they were doing. MY BP was a bit of a shoclk - 160/80, but that could be due to my stupid cold and sinus. Blood and urine were fine. She did a VE and was able to get 2 fingers through and feel bubs head firmly engaged - yay! She did a bit of a stretch and sweep then went to check ont he induction roster...

...tomorrow morning at 7.30!!!! So excited - not what we were expecting but becasue my MW was in at a birth they were able to check with her and she was happy with that and they were happy to do it sooner rather than later due to things looking favourable.

Miss I so hope your baby is evicted today you poor thing she's obviously nto wanting to come out on her own accord.

Swelling feet I got bad a few days before Iw ent into labour both times.
But with headaches aswell it is best to talk to mw.

it sounds awful mummybecks, they have thought that i would be a candidate for it, but even when I did have BP go up, I had no protein, so I am hoping that it hasn't all happened this week. of course it might have! Who knows! My BP has been constantly low - around 90/50 throughout whole pregnancy so I'm sure its nothing like that. But I do keep a close eye on everything else...

With my first I had the swelling everywhere, dizziness, I gained about 5kg's in 1 day (major fluid retention), my BP was sky high and I had +++ protein in the pee. The usual giveaways are the swelling, high BP and protein the dizziness usually comes after that. Yeah, my headache is too, but I have kept a close eye on my hands and face, and they aren't swollen. i wear jandals even though its only 6 degrees outside!! Midwife has warned me about pre-eclampsia, but again because the swelling is the only symptom, she's not concerned. Just a note on swelling and headaches. Watch for dizziness and the swelling in your hands and face. Feet swelling is normal at the later stage of pregnancy but if you develop headaches, high BP and the swelling in face if I was you hop foot it on the phone to your MW. I had this in both pregnancies and it ended up being pre eclampsia. I hope none of you get it as it sucks big time.

I did read that sme people swell up in the days leading up to giving birht - esspecially if they haven't had any swelling much before - likeme, i haven't really swollen. we have been getting heaps of calls and texts. I also spoke to a friend tonight ,apparently there are emails happening in the backgrouns - have you heard anythign yet...etc.

Glow, how amazing to be filmed... call me weird but I'd love to see a c-sec being preformed!!

Well we went for our scan this morning & everything is just great they estimate his weight to be only 8lb 9ozish which is approx what I was expecting so it looks as tho we'll have a 'normal' size baby after all?!

Had MW at 2pm today.... I asked her to do an internal just to see if these damn pains I've been having are actually doing something... turns out they have been doing something - I'm 2cms already!! YAY!!! She said while she 'was there' she may as well do a Stretch & Sweep, not bad at all really. She could feel the sack of waters & his head... she said she'd be surprised if she doesn't see us this weekend.. fingers crossed!!!
Well at least see her at our next appt. I might still scrape in a June mummy after all

Any word from Babe today??

I will need to ask about a copy? Dont know. I hope i get 1. DP was talking about using our camera to film aswell.

When i had Brae we got a few good photos & when they stitched me back up DP was having a good old lookie in there & even asking the surgeon's what things were and were they go etc. I had to tell him to shut up & leave them to stitch me back up. Now we joke about it & if he ever says he hate my guts- he really does mean it coz hes seen it!!

ETA i couldnt look coz i was stapped down. And fix my spelling
