She used to be a talking doll, but that drove me mad anyway, so I ripped out the battery and wires, and off she went in the washing machine . I told DD and we watched her tumble around for a while. DD doesn't mind at all. I wash her in the morning, and it doesn't really take that long to dry.

(I do have a front loader. Not sure if the thing inside a toploader would damage a doll)

Then pick a warm and windy day for it. Soak in bucket with napisan, and either rinse by hand and cold water or put thru machine inside a tied pillowcase, with slow spin. Put that thru the dryer on warm if you think the plastic will manage, otherwise dry on the line.
I haven't done this with moving eyes yet but I would assume that'll be okay. Oe of my girls cried so much she got to take a very damp doll to bed wrapped in a towel!

It has a plastic head, arms and legs, no hair, glass looking eyes that roll around, but a stuffing body with a white (GREAT COLOUR FOR A CHILDS TOY) fabric outer.

How do you suggest I clean the body? Is it too risky to chuck the whole doll in the washing machine? Or should I just rub it clean? It doesn't have cleaning instructions and I worry if I put it in the machine it's eyes might fall out or the head fall off?? Then we are in BIG trouble.

The white fabric is now beige and soooo manky looking.

Thanks. Your thoughts are appreciated!!
