It is normal but I think it's really important to find a way to relax, like maybe try pre-natal yoga or listening to a hypno-birthing relaxation cd. Don't read birth books, listen to horror stories or hang out with negative people who try to terrify you. It's true that some babies die at a late stage but it is VERY rare. The vast majority of babies are born just fine. Very, very normal!! I stressed from the moment I found out I was pregnant and am still stressing and DD is 1 next week! I'm also pregnant with number 2 and stressing just as much about EVERY little thing.

Completely normal. Everything about having our baby was a miracle and to this day I am the nervous wreck over protective mother people talk about lol
To be honest I went in to the hospital expecting an emergency of some kind and totally prepared myself for the worst case scenario, so was shocked things went smoothly.

Do you have or know someone who has a doppler? We borrowed one and it was my saving grace a lot. I was exactly the same, and i havent stopped yet! I too was ringing my m/w all the time saying he wasnt moving but he was and then i was convinced he'd stopped growing and THEN i was positive he was going to be born teeny tiny and sickly and probably premature. I agrivated my midwife so much in the overdue time that i had three scans in two days and a 2 day stay in hospital before i was induced as i was freaking out so much.

It's just the start of a lifetime of worry I'm afraid - when bubs is born you'll worry about whether they're pooing enough/too much, sleeping alright, feeding okay, too hot or too cold. Its just so hard because each time i've gone in he's moved heaps i just didnt feel it so they've told me he's probably kicking into my back but it doesnt help when im at home.
Hubby is over me telling him im worried because usually 5 mins later he moves but i cant help it.

Hi,
I was just hoping someone could tell me its normal to be a nervous wreck with your first pregnancy??
I have been to my midwife three times because i didnt think my boy was kicking enough....and even when i do get a good kick it doesnt stop my mind going to the worst!

We never expected i would get pregnant let alone make it past the first 12 weeks and now that im almost 32 weeks i cant help but feel like its going to be a big cruel joke!
It doesn't help having people tell me that ladies got to 32, 34 weeks and had no idea at all anything was wrong and they just lost their babies....it just makes me worry more.
