A bit tired, but no long-lasting pain!     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=19563">Bobchannz</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 38668<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 12 April 2011 at 11:07am<br /><br />Most obstetricians acting in their private capacity wouldn't do a caesaraen unless it was in some way necessary, even if you wanted to pay for it.<br /><br />For a first baby it is most likely that you will be in some discomfit for 24hours at the most - and you can have pain relief to keep on top of that pain.<br /><br />For a caesaraen I had a five day hospital stay with the pain somewhat controlled, then two weeks of a lot of discomfit (even with good pain pills) then it took me up to eleven weeks to get my physical energy back.  <br /><br />In my opinion nearly three months of discomfit while dealing with a new baby is not really worth trying to avoid some pain for one day.]]>

Lots of responses there.<br /><br />I agree that you probably couldn't get a c-section, unless medically indicated, through the public system. You would probably have to fork out big bucks for a private obstetrician.<br /><br />And small people can give birth too. <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> Yes, it is hard work, but I would imagine recovering from major abdominal surgery might be hard work in a different way.<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by MissShell</span>]]>

Our midwife comes from wellington hospital. It is really hard to find one at this time. We make all the calls, but seems like all midwifes are occupied. The size of my partner is small. I don't want to see her suffer during give birth. So that is why I ask for some help. But we already have a appointment next Monday at lower hut.
