I can totally relate to the hell of having a colicy baby!

We switched to formula, use Avent "anti colic" teats and Avent "anti colic" dummies (as recommended by Karitane Nurse as the sucking strenthens the food pipe and keeps the food down - more of a reflux issue but has also helped with Caitlin's colic)

Also, Infacol at each feed. I know there's a major shortage of it in the shops but I found an unopened bottle on trade me and also a pharmacy website that had some www.netpharmacy.co.nz

And... Tell your friend to prop the head end of the cot up (we used 2 yellow pages books) this helps keep food down and wind up

Good luck!

Also some babies have gastric reflux that can present as colic, get her to check her symptoms at the Crying Over Spilt Milk Website.
I hope that your friends baby can feel better soon!
