When born she weight 8lbs 8oz and now she weighs 5.19kgs not sure what that is in lbs. She went from 4.8kgs to 5.19kgs in a month but im not worried coz shes eating and happy and plunket are happy with her.

    Author: sleepy
Subject: 3885
Posted: 26 September 2006 at 7:09pm

Just wondering if anyone can help/reassure me....

I am a first time mum to my 3 month old daughter who was born 8pound 3oz (3725gms) but lost at least 265gms after birth. It took her 3 weeks to regain her birth weight and since then her weight gain has been slow - she now weighs 4800gms (10 pd 9oz) I took her for a 3 month check at plunket and in 3 weeks she only put on 300gms (100 a week) this is pretty much what she puts on most times. Everyone says not to worry as she is so happy, looks well and is alert and sleeps well (has slept at least 8 hours at night since she was born), she can roll and is active....HOWEVER..I can't seem to get it out of my head that it is low gain and am worried something is wrong.

Is there anyone out there that has expereinced similar problems with weight?????

Edited by sleepy
