Their ages range... we think it's either the cold snap we're having at the moment..or "the moon". LOL we can't figure it out either?

    Author: Millyz
Subject: 38879
Posted: 20 April 2011 at 3:18pm

Hi all

So it doesn't appear my baby has adjusted to the end of daylight savings and was wondering if others have or are experiencing anything similar or can offer any advice?

My 14 month old DD has always been an early riser, around 6.30am but since daylight savings has ended she's been waking up between 5.00-5.45am every morning. Except this morning when it was 4.10am!! She wakes up quite wide-awake - we've tried putting her back to bed, nappy-change then back to bed, leaving her to talk and then cry for a bit but nothing seems to work and eventually we end up giving her a bottle of milk. She then will either go back to sleep for an hour but more often than not she'll protest and be up for "morning time".

So is there any hope of her sleeping later or do you think we have just a naturally early riser. I myself am a morning person so perhaps its in her genes? I've thought about changing her bedtime but its already 7.00pm and feel it would be a backwards step to make it any later. She generally naps twice during the day for between 40 mins - 1 hour each time.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Its only been three weeks so we're not that jaded yet but I can see the novelty wearing off soon!! :-)
