They have a no nuts or eggs policy (packaged food fine but they have just joined a health programme so that may change).

Jake takes a sammie or cruskets or rice wafers / corn thins with jam or marmite. Then 2xfruit (grapes, mandarin, blueberries, strawberries, half an apple, half a pear, orange peeled and put in a plastic bag, or carrot sticks) and usually some crackers (rice crackers or shapes type thing) or maybe a plain biscuit. sometimes I put in some raisins / craisins / dried apricots or a cheese slice. sometimes he has a bar (mini fruit or cereal bar) or even a few chips in a plastic bag or a pack of cassava chips (hes not that keen on them though). today mum took him so I put a packet of rice wheels in as I packed it before going to work.

There are no nut allergies so thats not an issue and no rule on packaged food which is a bonus cos sometimes I forget that I have to make his lunch....I have to make for one and the other one has lunch provided.
Most days she has a marmite sandwich, some homebaking & an apple (preschool have an apple corer & cutting thing so she loves taking an apple) Shes a big fan of fruit/vege so also normally a wee glad container of diced orange/grapes or raw carrot or capsicum sticks. Other favourite treats in the lunch box are popcorn or
cheese straws (flaky pastry with grated cheese through it then rolled out cut in strips, twisted & baked)

Edited by ToniF

She doesn't seem to mind having the same thing every day for a week or 2. Sometimes I'll freeze homemade pizza in toddler-sized slices.

I do lots of fruit, raw veges (carrot sticks, celery, green beans, capsicum, tomato; sometimes frozen peas/corn), sandwiches (usually jam or vegemite, but on all kinds of bread/buns), yoghurt, cheese, crackers, craisons/sultanas.

I have frozen muffins too, but at 16 months she doesn't get those every day.

Frozen pikelets/corn fritters are good too. I freeze them free flow (spread them on a tray, then when they are frozen, throw them in a container/bag. Then I can just grab one on days I'm a bit short on lunch.

DD is also at an age where she has days where she'll eat like a horse and others where she's not that hungry, so I have a wee container of frozen snacks in the freezer at creche for if she eats all of her lunch and is still hungry. Creche also has a loaf of bread and some jam for those instances too.

What does she have for lunch at home? That's a good starting point
