I actually made a thread similar to this one - and got the same advice you're getting (and that I'm now giving ); that it's fine, lots of babies do it. I used to just leave him till he fell asleep or started crying (well, I was a bit flexible with the crying, if he hadn't been down long and was just grizzling, I'd leave him).

He doesn't do it now, more's the pity!

Declan hardly cries and I feel awfully guilty when I check on him and he might be awake but in his bed for a couple of hours. He seems happy enough and when I spoke to Plunket they said he is resting and not to worry.

Cracks me up when I go in there and he spots me and comes out with a huge smile and maybe even a giggle. I just thank my lucky stars he is such a happy, easygoing boy. Generally self settles and sleeps pretty well at night.

I just leave him to rest and go to sleep on his own time during the day. if hes happy in there and not crying and drifts off to sleep happily by himself i would say not to worry

I asked a number of the plunket nurses about it and they all said not to worry as as long as they weren't crying it counted as resting. I did find he seemed to get a bit more overtired later but has turned out to be a very good sleeper so I am sure you have nothing to be concerned about.

:-)
