He also was a very active little boy.  <br /><br />If it's a nice day DS also liked to explore outside and crawl over the grass, look at ants running around pick up leaves etc... could entertain him for ages!<br /><br />I found stuff like that kept him busy longer than actual toys.]]>

It was much better once mine got crawling sorted - for him at least. For the mum, it's chaos!<br /><br />I started taking mine swimming when he was 4 months - you don't have to pay for lessons, just go play with him in the pool. Maybe take a couple of toys that float - they like it when you hold them on their bellies so they can chase the toy around. <br /><br />Do you ever wear him in a backpack or sling? They often love the opportunity to watch everything you do as you go about your normal daily stuff. <br /><br />Libraries usually have good activities for little kids - even he's too young to participate, he will probably like the chance to see other kids. ]]>

I rent toys large activity toys for a month at a time so she always has a toy to play with. We go for walks as well she doesn't sleep during these walk but has a good noisy look at every one and enjoys the stop at the park on the way home]]>

Some groups separate the ages out - it just depends how many are in your area. Ours were all in together, from two weeks to a year old!]]>

Loads of other kids to look at and new toys to ay with.  Ring your local church and see if they do one . ]]>

High maintenance anyone? lol. Yeah I think getting him to more classes is a good idea. We tried wriggle and rhyme once when he was smaller and he was a bit overwhelmed but I think with the way he is now he would like it more. <br /><br />All great ideas, thanks, I am browsing trademe for exersaucers as we speak. <br /><br />Des- when I say bored I guess I mean fussing yeah, but it is solved by doing something else so I tend to figure he's bored. <br /><br />There is SPACE in my area so could try that too does it matter than he's not brand new anymore? As I was under the impression it was from when they were little]]>

I think he sounds like a people person. Ring all your local churches and ask if they have a music group or play group. He is def old enough to get something out of it  <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;(we've had babies start at our music group much younger than him).<br />Also if you check on the Mainly Music NZ website you will find a list of all the Mainly Music's near you and a person to call.<br /><br />Nathan loves to go on nature walks - just around our garden looking at leaves blowing in the wind.<br /><br />A visit to a resthome?     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=24677">DesSt</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 39150<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 13 May 2011 at 2:21pm<br /><br />When you say bored do you mean that he is fussing?<br /><br />Perhaps he is just frustrated that he can't move as much as he wants yet?<br /><br />We do the same range of activites + the exersaucer - when DS starts fussing we rotate onto the next activity.<br /><br />You could also try:<br />Dancing<br />"Flying" (I think my son thinks he's a rugby ball :-) )<br />Making noise (pushing a coke bottle with rice in it or banging pots, DS likes playing with plastic cups which he bangs on things).<br /><br />Or just doing those activities in different places - a blanket on the grass - crawling practice on the bed and playing on the deck/patio with toys.<br /><br />My DH reckons babies are like fish - they can't remember what they were doing half an hour ago so just do it again!<br /><img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0"> ]]>

They also have great musical toys etc. <br /><br />I also have a very active physical boy and need to distract him every 10 mins! Loves bubbles (just bought cheap supermarket ones). Loves sitting in the bumbo on the dining room chairs with us and chatting etc. ]]>

At the moment he has his jolly jumper, playmat, various toys, we read books together and chat, he sits in his bumbo chair, I take him outside sometimes and we go for walks. He also loves to go places like the mall and supermarket. He loves music so I sing to him as well. <br /><br />Have been considering an exersaucer as he loved one he tried out but I can see myself just buying more and more toys and having the same problem lol. <br /><br />Does anyone have any activities they do/did with their active baby? Any ideas much appreciated. ]]>
