was curious about this so looked online ...

Air NZ will carry till 30 weeks without med cert, after that requires a med cert if flight is longer than 4 hours

Air Pacific will carry till 35 weeks with a med cert

I've found most companies wont cover you after 26 weeks at the latest. Having said that, as far as I am aware you are covered for most other things except for the pregnancy part.

So for example, if you fall over and break your arm you're covered (as its not pregnancy related). But if you suddenly go into labour and need maternity care, you are NOT covered. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

Another thing to check is if the Airline will take you after 28 weeks. Some airlines wont.

the only other option I can think of is to contact an insurance broker and see what they can find, they may be able to get a policy tailored to your situation.

There must be someone who will cover you especially if the airline is okay for you to fly. The broker will probably require a release of medical info from your GP and midwife about status of the pregnancy and any pre-existing conditions which may cause issues with the travel. They may also stipulate that there is medical coverage for the pregnancy when you fly, however they may decline to cover cancellation of the travel for you and your partner if you request cancellation of the travel closer to the date due to pregnancy complications.

Having just returned from Aussie on Saturday I am quite familiar with travel insurance and pregnancy! I rang around several companies about two months ago trying to find insurance for myself and most will only cover up to 24 or 26 weeks pregnant. The only exception was ASB who will cover you up to 28 weeks and 6 days pregnant. All the companies I phoned would not insure me no matter how much I paid.

Princess everyone ive talked to charge and excess ($150 mostly) for travelling after 20 weeks.. no one has said they wont insure me? Yip you can, you just have to talk to them over the phone to book it wen ur pregnant, rather than doing it online.

Really need some help! I'm trying to find travel insurance to go to Fiji and I'll be 30 weeks pregnant. Does anyone know of a company that will cover for this? It's for a wedding (and I'm meant to be bridesmaid, gulp?!) Would really appreciate any help!
