Well I probably don't need to worry about the dummy because she spent about 10 mins today trying to shove her thumb in her mouth! From what I've read, it gets tougher the longer you leave it after that 6-month mark. That's good to hear. We weaned Jacob off his at 5/6 months - but for now, I'd just happily use it and not worry. Yeah our DS just didn't want/need it after 6 months. Bexta don't worry yet, honestly Lachie was the same up until a few days ago and now he won't touch it.

I used the dummy to get him to sleep and before he was deep asleep if he hadn't spat it out I would take it out, so he wouldn't be used to sleeping with it in.

I did this with my first too and he also lost interest in sucking it at all.

My 10 week old daughter uses dummy. She doesn't use it all the time and can often go through the night without us having to put it back in. But most of the time she does need it to go to sleep. I generally try to keep it to a bed time thing but she will use it during the day too if she's really unsettled.
