So on the first week he had 100ml formula and 50ml cow's milk, second week he had 50ml formula and 100ml cow's milk, and then all cow's milk. Might be worth a shot?

Oh and - my DD is currently on lactose free formula (I so sympathise with the $$, ouchy!) but today I found lactose fee milk. Still expensive, about $4 a litre but that might also be worth a try?

She said there is no reason kids need to get calcium from milk if they eat veges etc with calcium in them. They absorb the calcium better from plant products anyway. Brocolli, spinach, oranges and seasame seeds/oil all contain calcium. This link talks about calcium from veges Link

If he really doesn't like the taste of the other types of milk and you don't want to continue buying the formula, as long as he gets the fruit/veg containing calcium he won't be missing out.

ETA to fix link

Edited by Shelt

So just put 10 mls in the first time (so its a gradual taste change rahter than a big shock?) It mgiht work?
Otherwise I woudl have a chat to your GP/pead about it, if theyve diagnosed him as lactose free then it should be free/subsidised? (I dont know tho, just going off the bits Ive been told with DDs allergies, but shes not on formula so havnt taken much notice sorry!)

They currently have the s26 lactose free stuff, which costs me an arm and both legs ;) I've tried Thomas on soy/rice milk, which he drinks and vomits back up. What do I do? He's 3 and 'should' be off formula now! He'll drink water happily, but yea, he still should be having the calcium etc in the milk shouldnt he? I'm really stuck! I MADE him have the soy/rice ones cuz I thought he was just being a pain in the arse, but turns out he really really hated them (oh and he never saw the containers so he didnt know it wasnt his formula iykwim). Is there something else he can have? I'm having trouble with the cost of 2 tins of this stuff a week! ($27 each)
