Exactly the same as Sheza here, except the addition of Cooper having a pillow since his was small to get extra incline!

Now he sleeps all over the place. Not sure how he doesn't fall out of bed!

As long as they can move I wouldn't be overly worried, if you've got a movement monitor maybe put that on? We are having the exact same issue at the moment. DS2 is happy as on his side but lately I've been woken by an ANGRY bubba stuck on his hands and knees or in some other strange position in the middle of the night

He's fighting off a cold too, so I don't blame him for wanting to sleep on his side rather than his back! I think DS1 took a week or so to get over the novelty of rolling around in his cot (or at least that's how long it took for him to figure out he didn't need me to fix it). I have always side slept my kids, when they were tiny, they got swaddled and put in the wedge tilted to their side, and when they were older they just slept however they wanted.

DS has always preferred to tummy sleep, he had great head control from day 1 and would easily turn his head if needed. Agree, we've always placed DD on her back first but up to her after that. Once Jacob could roll, I figured he could sleep how he was comfortable. I would put DD down on her back alway. She can easily roll herself and sleeps on her tummy during the day. I'll check on her before I head to bed. I always made sure there was nothing around or near her head/face or that could fall on her head/face but because she can/could roll both ways, push herself up - I've never worried! She started sleeping on her back (although when I bought her home from the hospital I always found her on her side anyway about 6-8 months she started side sleeping on/off and by 10 months she was a tummy sleeper by choice just like DP and I are.

My mum is huge on the back sleeping thing and always panics and hates that DD sleeps on her tummy!

I would say if you feel ok with it then don't worry, maybe check on her a few extra times? What positions do your babies sleep in? Does it matter if they're not on their back?
