Hey, my 18 month old hasn't climbed out but have just taken tray off so he can be up at table as he was putting his plate on table then not being able to reach it. But I'm worried about him tantrumming and falling out or pushing away from table and falling. Hey, we removed the tray and it's worked really well! More so because we can push her right up to the table whereas she has about a 5cm gap between herself and the tray and can get up.

We did put the tray back on at the weekend as we had a mini party for DPs birthday so she wasn't able to eat right at the table but we didn't end up using it and she just ate at her little table and chairs so we've taken the tray off again.

We switch between her eating at her little table and chairs with me (during the day) to eating in her highchair as a chair at the table and it's working well. I got the harness from Mocka and it seems to be made for Mocka (it says Mocka on it) and fits the chair perfectly... Oh I wish I knew about those harnesses several months ago when DD figured out how to unbuckle the lap strap and started climbing out of her Mocka original. We just ended up pulling the lap strap out and re-fed it through backwards so that the buckles did up under the chair instead of over her lap. How did it go with removing the tray high9?

Having the same issue now with my two, who think its pretty funny to try and get out themselves

Might get straps though before they started climbing out I used to get a few things done while they were sitting in highchair.

Yeah, games seem to be a good way to go, she hasn't done it since so still a wait and see, we might try taking the tray off and see how that goes and if not then the straps as I'd hate to restrain her and she got upset and stop eating! We have a girl who loves food, and our rule is, you are sitting or no food...she figured it out REAL quick.
She waits for "the cloth of DOOM!" to come and clean her up afterwards too :D

I'll second the other option of taking the tray off, that worked well for us too. We actually went the other way, when she figured out how to climb out (and fall down!) we took off the tray and the bar at the front and use it as a chair for her at the table. Shes quite good about it, climbs up, stays sitting (no sitting, no food!) and then asks to be put down after food.

yip we got the same harness and it works well. You can get them from the baby shops as well- we got it from baby city and it was a lot cheaper than buying it from Mocka (for exactly the same thing).

Hi,

We have a wooden Mocka High Chair and my 16 month old has learned or discovered how to climb out! Not climb down but more get out and I came back from the loo during breakfast to find her standing on the tray! Obviously this is dangerous so I recall seeing somewhere that you could get a harness or straps for the chair...
