Is physio treatment free if you get referred by your midwife?

Eassa, one thing that made sleep more comfortable for me was using a pillow for support. If you sleep on your side, put it between your knees - it helps the hip area relax. If you lie on your back, put it under your calves. It might also help to have one under your belly for support as it grows, or get one of those long body pillows.

It took them nearly 3 weeks to contact me after MW sent the referral, but the woman I saw there was amazing! Plus any of the back/belly belts that you need they lend you for free. And they can help with alternative ways of doing things and other exercises that may be able to help you. I have quite bad SPD, was given a belly belt, which did help somewhat.. went back a second time and ended up with a thicker belt to wear as well, as back and hip pain had gotten worse. It's weird the way our bodies compensate!!

Before I ended up at the physio, I also went to an osteopath twice.. Had immediate relief in my lower back, and it helped the pain I was having in my upper back as well. Pity we can't afford for me to keep going...

Or the good old wheat bag/hot water bottle/hot shower/bath etc work wonders too...
