We had been BFing well up to that point, I just had a very stressful week and AF arrived and my supply went out the window. Def go to the doctor and get them to prescribe you some, I hope it all works out for you. If not you can always try and source some donor milk from eats on feet nz or mothers milk nz (search on FB)

Plunket family centre weighed him and before a feed and saw he was only getting a measly 50ml (he was 11 weeks old at the time). I went to my GP and asked for it. I had no side effects but I didn't like the idea of being on a drug long term so stopped when he was 6 months old. I managed to BF him (not exclusively) until he was nearly 9 months old.

Give it a go for sure!

However, I now think our issue was a posterior tongue tie that no one caught.
The only real ways to know are lack of nappies and weight issues.

Edited by Bky

If you do think your LO isn't getting enough, an LC can weigh him before and after a feed, and see if he is actually getting enough.
I took 6 to start off for a few days till my supply was super awesome again then slowly weaned off them. I noticed a difference in half a day and it just got better and better. They worked really well for me. I usually take one or two at the start of AF cause my supply drops then as well. I didnt get any side affects but I know you can get them.

I've got a few questions for them, the first of which will be, what the name of it again?

How did you KNOW that low milk supply was the problem? I mean when BFing I can't really tell if he's getting 5mls or 500mls I've just got this feeling that the supply is dwindling.

Did you go to a GP or a lactation consultant to get put on it?

Does it work? How quickly do you notice a change?

Does it have any negative side effects?

TIA
