I had lots of extra scans when I was bleeding but when I stopped at 17 weeks they didn't feel they needed to monitor anymore. My baby was completely healthy so I get the impression that if it's just spontaneous (rather than some placenta problem) then it doesn't impact on baby at all.

Good luck. Hope things settle down for you both.

I am going through this now. I had my first subchronic haemorrhage at 8w 2d and have spotted continiously through up until today with moments of heavy bleeding, clots and scares all round. Today I went to the hospital to prepare myself for a d and c as I was sure I had lost baby last week, and what do you know baby is fine. I have had a second subchronic haemorrhage in a different area and may bleed for quite some time yet. I am well over bleeding, but will be happy enough to bleed right through if it means having another happy and healthy bubba. I will have extra scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks.

Good luck.

My haemorrhages were on the wall of the womb (outer) and just above my cervix (most recent bleed). I didn't bleed at all with my first.

Anyway, I had lost my first 2 babies with no bleeding whatsoever but with my daughter I bled on and off from 6 to 17 weeks which was terrifying. It's not considered 'normal' but neither is it uncommon and definitely doesn't always mean problems. But yeah, it's so hard not to worry. I can remember the sinking feeling every time the bleeding started again.
The advice I got was very general. Try not to over exert myself and no sex or swimming or bath's when I was actually bleeding (infection risk) but everything as normal when I wasn't.
Fingers crossed for you and try not to stress too much (so hard I know!).
