It's run by ARC events and goes through gorgeous scenery.
That's great to hear you're successfully doing that training and it's going all good How old are your kids? Ooh, Tarawera 100k is a great event! I've done half of it twice, as part of a relay. It's stunning scenery too, especially the leg 3 part by the lake.
Nice work Guest! Cool to hear that bra is a good one, will look out for that brand.

My baby is 10 months and I have now completed 2 20k fun-runs! Feels really nice to leave her at home with hubby and my milk supply has been fine, I drink soooooo much water and eat well so I think that helps! Not sure how your pelvic floor is doing but I wear a pad on long runs just to be on the safe side as have had a couple of leaky moments, especially if I run fast!!! So that is my piece of advice for you!!! Have you been to Avokado in Newmarket? They have some great sports bras there - I got a great bra by Freya there and that keeps everything in place as am 8FF so need a really sturdy bra!

I use to do ironman pre kids, but now just running... am looking at tarawera ultra 100km next march.
Re breastfeeding and exercise, I do up to 20+ hours a week and still have more than enough milk, both my kids averaged 90+ percentile weight gain and height, never had feeding issues, sickness etc and feed straight after I run, during a run etc. But I do hear it can affect supply, taste etc, so I think you have to trial and error what your body and your babies can handle. Good luck, its nice to exercise ad feel good again. ;-)

I found it didn't affect my supply unless I was already a bit tired or getting sick. You do have to be vigilant about eating and drinking lots though. I think if its a regular thing you do your body adjusts accordingly.

Basically I'm making sure I eat plenty and drink plenty and don't lose too much weight. Realised yesterday that technically I needed to consume an extra 1800 calories that day to make up for bf and running (22k or so) - obviously I'm not actively going to do so, and I'm not running that much every day, but it does imply it's necessary to eat cookies on a regular basis .

Agree with others on advice. The bra is an issue - I've ordered that Enell super bra at great cost, so fingers crossed it works.

All the best

But i did a lot of reading about it (as i run a bit but wanted to be sure i wouldnt be doing myself damage) and i found some articles that suggested unless you are running over 6km daily then you will do yourself no harm. We are all different though so start slow and see what happens. Stay hydrated and all that. Other things to consider are a REALLY good sports bra (i wear a maternity bra, sports bra and tight bra/singlet at the same time, C cup!) and maybe showering afterwards as i hear some babies won't latch to a sweaty breast though i have fed DS mid run with no problems so he doesnt mind much!
