The first week or so I had to actively keep DD awake - I kept her busy with activities over the time when she would have otherwise been asleep. After that she just got into a rythm where she was having enough sleep at night (from falling asleep so much earlier) so didn't need sleep during the day. It was so much easier than what I had imagined and I wondered why I battled for so long to get DD to sleep at night instead of just cutting out the day sleep when she clearly didn't need it.

However when they do have an active day they get really tired and do need one, they will usually sleep for about 1.5-2 hours. The only thing is that after this sleep they are up until 9 or 10 at night! We still put them to bed at around 8:30 (latest) but they are awake for yonks! I went to bed before they were asleep last night... at 9:30!

We have been in this stage for at least 6 months now...

Is this normal? Is there something I can do??
