She was feeding for comfort and still likes her milkies before bed followed by some cuddles.

She only weaned because I had an operation and 3 nights away from her. MIL obviously couldn't BF her and neither could DP so she cried for 3 whole days but eventually settled for cuddles with MIL.

I thought that she wouldn't wean or we'd go back to how it was. So was a bit of a shock.

I never did a dreamfeed, jsut feed when woke, and 12 weeks old to the day he went to bed and slept 12 hours solid, so no night feeds since then. But that is rare I think. Needless to say his growth was slow(but ok) over the next few months until we started solids, now he is just about off the scale at the heavy end!

He got the idea very quickly. In saying that, when I say he's weaned at night I still feed him from anytime after fivish, and he'll often go back to sleep at that point - and for a while I still gave him a dreamfeed at 9.30, so it was more the inbetween feeds that I stopped.

DH got up to her instead of me and it took about 3 nights before she'd just go "oh, it's you, no milk for me then" and happily cuddle back to sleep. After maybe 2-3 weeks of it being only DH, I would take turns too and she seemed ok with the idea of only getting BF during the day. It hasn't really helped with her night waking though - sometimes I think it would be easier still feeding her so that when she DID wake up, I had a quick, lazy way of getting her back to sleep.

For what it's worth, I was UTD again within 2 weeks of night weaning too
