Yup, agree with others, we stopped at 3ish months when everything started going in the mouth. I stopped at 3 months as that's when everything started going in the mouth and as others have pointed out, if they're coping with putting toys (sometimes other peoples haha) and who knows what else in their mouths, then I don't see a problem with a clean bottle that's been washed in hot soapy water - and our water is pretty clean in NZ, if it was tank water obv i'd think twice. The moment they start being able to put their hands or other objects in their mouth you can start to be a bit less vigalent was what I was told. Since their not going to be sterile. I think from 3 months. I stopped around 6 months but I didn't find it a pain as I was using a microwave steriliser and it's not too much more of an effort after washing bottles, to pop them in the steriliser with a bit of water and into the microwave for a few minutes! I actually still use boiled water now at 10mths, just whatever is in the jug though, I don't specifically boil it for the bottles. Argh I know, it's a pita having to steralise (I'm still using a shield and have to steralise it)

I'm guessing it's around 6 months as they would usually start to eat solid foods and they are putting anything and everything into their mouths anyway whereas they aren't quite at that stage at 3 months.
