Hi, I ended up with an induction and our baby girl - Maddi Rose was born on the 15th June (8lb 13oz) I ended up going to surgery as my placenta wouldn't come and need a transfusion too, we got there in the end.... can't believe she is one month old today SCARY! Oh and my name is Suzanne Norman (photo of me, hubby, DS and DD1) if I can get added to the facebook page please.

I had the same (no pain relief other than gas) was SO happy to have the gas though!!!!

Hey girls,is there anyone left to go in here? I can't believe June is almost over!

Our wee man made his appearance on June 17th, almost a week overdue.
He weighed in at a nice 10lb 5oz. I am just relieved he is out. The birth went really well just a minor panic when his shoulders became stuck. Luckily thanks to my amazing midwife all he needed was a slight twist and he shot out like a cork.

He seems to be doing really well, sleeping nicely during the day. We are still working on nights, he manages 1 good sleep at the begining of the night and then is usually in our bed feeding on and off until morning.

He is feeding well too. This boy loves his milk. He even managed to put on weight in the first week.

Still getting my head around juggling 3 children. At the moment it isn't too bad as they are at kindy and school most of the day. We will wait and see how it all goes over the holidays.

Portia Elise, 6lb 1/2oz born 14th June, I was admitted to hospital on wed 13th with pre eclamsia. told that they would induce on friday but the dr change her mind and said there was no point in waiting around. the risk was too big.

Hi ladies, my due date was yesterday with our second baby (we have a 19 month old little boy). Would love to chat with other mothers as we go on this exciting adventure. Hi, I am was due with my first baby last monday (4th) so am 9 days overdue...... I have a 3 1/2 yr old boy and a 20 month old girl so am going to be busy busy!!!! I am getting induced on Friday but nervous as my other 2 had arrived by now!!! Has anyone been induced what do they do etc, I also PPH with my girl so that has me super paranod now! Hey all

Noah Roger Farquhar arrived 7/6/12 at 9:14pm, 1.5 hours of labour, gas used for a few contractions, water birth, born weighing 7lb 15.5oz so pretty much 8lb lol. came home the following morning and settled at home well, learning to juggle the two on my own is the biggest task as DD is very empathetic and crys when he crys and wants to know he is ok etc.

Haven't checked in on this thread in ages, but wee Hannah arrived on 25/5 via c-sec (due to the antibodies in my blood the docs gave me a choice - be induced or another c-section at 39 weeks. I chose the latter..). We were in hospital for a week, including 4.5 days in NICU under blue lights for jaundice (caused by said antibodies). Doing well now that we're home, gaining weight and slowly losing our yellow. Brock Winton arrived 2 days late on 6th June at 1109pm weighing 7lb7oz. 6 hour labour with no drugs, 2nd deg tear but so totally worth it. He is gorgeous with heaps of really blonde hair. So had MW today - BP seems to be behaving on the minimal dose of meds but I am a bit reluctant to go off them in case it goes a bit nutso again. Might stop at the end of the week and see what it is at my next MW appt on Tues.

Dentist tomorrow - my awesome mum is coming with me to watch the kids. That is still wierd to say, "kids" plural!

Dp kept his job - he scored in the top 2:) he is back at work now so the boys and i are trying to get in our own routine.
DS1 has really bad ear infection and driving me crazy as he isnt listening.
Cooper is doing great, saw mw yesty and he has an umbilical hernia. DS1 had one so not too worried.

Ajay - have u had bubs yet?

Find it hard to get on here to june bug stalk. If your not on fb would love to have u to join the up in the night club.

Exciting to hear about little babies that have arrived already - and ones to arrive very soon.

Oor due date is still a little while away - although 3 weeks early my midwife thought I might go into labour within 24 hours - no further progress though.

I'm hoping to host my morning tea for my last day of work tomorrow and have a well needed haircut, and perhaps movies during the day in the week - has anyone seen 'what to expect when your expecting yet'? I thought should write on here for all the non face bookers of our group. Taipari Richard Leon was born 1/6/12 at 1124 weighing 10lb 9oz. Shoulder dystocia, apgar score of 0 at birth, 3 at 5 mins and 9 at 10 mins. Swallowed the mecocium (sp) and spent 5 days in SCBU. Home now all is good except for his left shoulder which may have a bit of nerve damage secondary to the way he was pulled out. Still can't believe had such big baby, honestly I'm not a big girl lol.

White_rabbit, congrats on Brody's arrival!! The blood pressure medication you're on (Labetalol) won't impact on your prolactin levels. The one I was on is Enalapril, that's the one that reduces the levels. I've gone back to Labetalol which is the pregnancy safe one, which has no impact on milk supply.

Wow, a week late but better than never! My wee boy, Brody was born after 4 hours 44mins of labour, 7lb 14 oz. Stoked that once again I didn't need any pain relief! Though there were a few points where I considered it, because I got to the "I don't want to do this!!!" stage! His temp was a bit low when he came out, but his APGAR was 10 both times and everything else was fine so just had lots of skin to skin cuddles, and warm woolly clothes when he'd warmed up a bit and he came good by Fri evening.

Typical boy, loves his boobies! He only lost 150gr of his birth weight at the check up that the MW's do - he could've lost up to 360gr as they believe up to 10% is fine!! He's a feeder for sure.

I've already dropped 6kg, thanks to the normal fluid loss (and lack of baby in there!) so I'm stoked - only 14 more to go!!!

I check on here when i get to the computer but check on fb on my phone while feeding cooper in the night.
He was 5kgs on monday and will get weighed this monday. Cant believe he is 3wks today.
Waiting to hear if dp still has a job - they are laying off staff today :( He is meant to go back on monday as his 3wks holidays is up. Been good having him home and helping with ds1 and cooper. He has been up doing the nappy change at every feed in the night :)

I must admit I have been forgetting to check in here, I usually just go straight to the fb group.

Still no baby here, although he is definitely keeping me on my toes... I thought again yesterday that it was all starting up but again it fizzled into nothing. My mum has been dragging me out and getting me walking, I think everyone is a bit excited to meet this baby.
I still have a few days until my Due Date so it could be any time yet. I am measuring at 42 cm so my mw has sent me off for a growth scan tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what sort of size they predict. If he is looking too big we may have to look at getting this baby out sooner rather than later.
I am looking forward to the scan, it will be nice to see every thing is all good to go just one last time before he arrives (and I might just get to squeeze in a wee bit of last minute shopping and a quiet lunch out with DH).

Yay Atiamuri!!! Amazing to see the 40 weeks and no daily countdown. Baby's head has been engaged for about a week now...but you never know your bub's head could become engaged overnight and you could pip me at the post! As my midwife said the head being engaged still doesn't give any indication when s/he will come.
It's good you are comfortable too. And we're allowed to be grumpy at this late stage! I've actually been on a pretty even keel the whole way through...emotions haven't really changed too much - which makes me wonder if I'll be an emotional mess after the birth!! I'm actually still in a state where I don't quite believe it's happening. Not too sure if that's normal or not but you'd think I would be able to visualise the birth and baby's arrival by now!
Anyway enjoy your due date day Atiamuri....I'm thinking cake and hot chocolate somewhere to celebrate baby's (medical) birth date!

I didn't have much action overnight...no cramps and not such a strong feeling of baby pushing down on pelvis (i.e. like it is about to fall out!!). So we'll see how much longer before our wee bundle of joy decides it is time. Had my midwife appointment and I am still only measuring 31cm! Amazing to think baby is in the normal weight range when my fundal height hasn't increased in over a month.

Still such a little poppet at 2.5kg Ooligator! Good to hear you are pumping more now that you are off your BP meds. And it's great that you can get donor milk...what a wonderful thing. Sounds like your wee girl is getting the best. Hopefully that reflux settles soon...it really sounds like it's a full time job just to feed Niamh - I hope you're not getting too exhausted. I guess you've got that experience having been through this before! Looking forward to hearing when more of those cute wee fat rolls develop.

As for facebook, I think I may have signed up for an account in the early days when it started in NZ (although I have no idea what it was - ha!). For social media I've always used twitter for personal and linkedin for work. I think I decided it would be too much work to have another site to check and update....just me being lazy! But it does seem pretty quiet on here - so maybe I should look into facebook rather than ohbaby. Are most people using facebook now?

Thanks for asking how Niamh is doing. She's not gaining weight that well yet, only just below 2.5kg as of Friday just gone. I'm still having to top her up after feeds, and pump after that, and she's now got reflux symptoms, so has to be held upright for 20 mins after a feed, to stop her spilling too much.

She's slowly starting to get a little teeny fat roll under her chin.

I've had to resort to donor milk to make up the short fall in what I'm pumping and what she needs. The shortfall is around 50ml a day.

I've also discovered (through my lactation consultant friend) that the blood pressure medication I'm on has the effect of reducing my prolactin levels by around 22%, which goes part way to explaining why my supply is so shockingly low this time, and why it doesn't seem to be increasing. I wasn't put onto this BP medication till DD1 was about 6 months old, and it's worst impact on prolactin levels is in the first 12 weeks post-partum. So I've stopped taking it this weekend, and will talk to my Renal Specialist on Tuesday, as I am now pumping more each session, though not masses more yet, but definitely improved.

Well my due date is almost here and not much action yet. Although head is fully engaged and feeling like things are about to happen (esp. last night with cramps...but I was so tired I couldn't even get excited or bother waking my partner - I just went back to sleep - ha!).....but not much today in the way of twinges. I am quite happy to wait a few more days as I'm comfortable and in no hurry. So we'll see! Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi all. For those not on facebook, our little man was born via VBAC oN 31 May. Contractions started at 3.30pm and he was born at 6pm. Was extremely fast and intense. I had an episiotomy so have stitches and one night in hospital.
Its been great coming home but think the day 3 blues are hitting me today. My milk is coming in and my breasts are huge and so sore. Bubs is feeding every hour and it hurts so bad so i guess im not latching him correctly. It will all get better though.
Cant wait to hear of more baby arrivals.

I bawled my eyes at those poor little triplets in Qatar. What a terrible thing to go through, and there's nothing that can be done!

Baby will not stop pushing down on my pelvis, I keep waiting for a "pop" but nothing....or a bad contraction!.....nothing, just twinges! It's such a crazy feeling, feeling someone wriggle their way down in there! LOL

I'm looking forward to ds cross-country tomorrow. I use to hate it at his age, I think it was that gun at the start, made me so nervous.

Is anyone finding it hard to control their emotions? I've been feeling so irritable and restless. I'll be fine one minute, then snappy the next.I'm so fun to be around

Morning all

hope everyone is coping ok, cant wait to start hearing the baby news coming in now that june is only a few days away.

DD has been a real tantrum toddler lately, not sure if it to do with she knows change is coming or what but it is driving me and dh crazy. Wish this baby would just arrive, gonna go on another walk today hoping to try push things along, was gonna try special cuddles last night but we were so worn out from toddler tantrums and then this morning she was awake b4 us so it was all a no go. maybe tonight. lol can u tell i really want this baby out

Well I made it through the weekend without baby arriving, did think it was all on on Friday, but since then I've been really ill with asthma. Saw midwife today and she thinks I'm ready to go at any time, but that my body is just holding off as I've not been well. She said it often happened like that, and she's only once known someone in labour who was also ill, and they'd been induced because she was so ill. Hey laddie's was having a snoop and came across this page. I'm due with my 2nd bub on the 14th of June :D very excited for cuddles. Cannot wait til bub's is out very bad cramps in my legs sometimes i can't even walk :( Although I've had a great pregnancy cannot really complain :)

Ha, just checking my ticker too ;)

I am totally ready for this baby to come. Labour seems to keep starting and then not turning into anything. Makes for some very long nights and exhausting days. I am hoping to head to bed early and if contractions start up again tonight that they will finally go somewhere.
I have been avoiding leaving the house too much as I just feel like my waters could just break and it would suddenly be all go.

I have definitely learnt to not expect anything to be the same as the girls.. heres hoping this theory continues once he is out and I get a nice easy baby!

Seems like a lot of our midwives are away or off this weekend cause mine is too. I would be gutted not to have mine with me as she is so supportive of me having a vbac as she has been through it herself. Lets all keep our legs crossed!

Cooper Ross Woodrow -
arrived 18th May at 9.47am weighing 4860g or 10lb 11oz - 3 weeks early exactly.

Had scan on the thurs and since bubs wasnt moving much ob kept me hospital and brought c section 4ward to 22nd may. had show fri 2.30am and waters broke at 5.45am. all happened so fast - rushed to theatre and Cooper was born under general. The theatre staff thought he would be closer to 12pound. I lost 2l of blood so wasnt in good shape. Ended up having 2 units of blood on saturday as i fainted after taking 2 steps. What an improvement after that.
Cooper was in neo natal as sugar levels were low for 2 days, only prob he was feeding 50ml a feed and when i got him back i didnt have enough milk so have been topping him up. We came home on the 22nd to a relieved big brother. Ds1 was all over him and just adores having him. He has played up a bit with not listening etc mainly to see if rules are the same especially as i was in hospital 4 over a wk on and off.
Gave him a fright seeing cooper and mummy hooked up to machines, but has coped really well.

Wow - yours mustn't have been too bad! I went into hospital on Thurs with high BP and they only just let me out on Tues! SO freakin frustrating. Am off to the MW soon to get it checked, hoping that the meds and change in diet will do the trick. Good news I've been let out of hospital and they think the high blood pressure is hypertension not pre-e which is such a relief. Hope the blood pressure comes down and it's not pre-e misslissy. It is nice to have some pre-baby time once you've finished work, make the most of just being able to nip to the shops or go to the loo without an audience.

A waiting game here too! Stupid cold that arrived makes it painful to cough with a big belly!
Had horrible nightmares about this truck nearly running me over and I was on the ground banging on the side of it screaming "I'm pregnant, don't kill me!" luckily the driver saw me and I managed to scramble away! Weird.

I am soooo lucky by the sounds of others as I only get up once, twice maybe to pee in the night! Reminds me, who's been doing their pelvic floor exercises!

Eeek - with you all on the ticker watch (think it might have my "old" date though....). Still finishing moving the last of the stuff from the old house to the new and have made a start on cleaning the old house.

I just hope I actually get a chance to unpack some stuff and pack labour bag before new baby shows up.... MW says only need me, boobs and a bottle of water (for me in labour) and not to worry about the bag .

Doesn't feel real yet - this was meant to be my two weeks toddler free to relax and think/organise for second baby and has ended up being frantic panic of moving house (new house feels way more comfy and home like than the last one though). I'd agree (so far, with my limited 1 week of having Niamh at home! LOL) that the move from 1 child to 2 children is much easier than the shift from none to 1. That was a total "what the heck is going on" thing for me (going from none to 1). This time, it's coming back, I'm more relaxed about baby stuff, etc. Still knackering and very tired, which is hard when you've got a 3 year old who doesn't nap in the daytime, and needs to be kept amused.

It is a bit of a juggling act, as at the moment it feels like I'm constantly feeding, topping up, or pumping for Niamh, so DD1 is missing out, but she gets a good 1.5-2 hours usually between the start of one feed to the start of the next.

There have been moments of a disgruntled 3 year old, for having to wait and not having my attention 24/7, but she keeps saying she loves Niamh, and is trying to help with things as much as possible, so I think she'll adjust.

The most "nerve wracking" thing I've done so far, was my first trip out in the car (first drive post c-sect) with both of them on my own yesterday to go to the hospital to get Niamh's tongue tie snipped. Wasn't as hectic as the first trip out on my own with DD1 though, that felt like it took military precision to organise and make sure I had everything I thought I may need LOL This time it was "got nappy bag, got baby buckled in capsule, got older child and her bag?, that's it!"

It is getting down to the wire for lots of us. I went to my MW appt today only to find my blood pressure has shot up and got admitted to hospital :( I only finished work on Friday and have been looking forward to having a few weeks off before the baby arrives. If it turns out I have pre eclampsia then I might get induced this weekend. 3 days teaching to go!!!!!!!!!

I have so much to organise! Friggin flatmate still in baby's (and my) room. We've told him to be out by this weekend. I'll be full-term and am NOT going into labour with the flatmate still about.

Feel really good about having more time with DS1. His daycare is really average. Will keep him in 2 days a week - on the days when his fav staff are in charge of him.

Kelz - do you feel ready for your little boy? Kinda exciting if the cramps are same as with Ella and it's all on soon.

Capelbach - so good to hear that from 1 to 2 kids is less adjustment than from none to one. Very excited to get to know the similarities/differences between my 2 boys. You'll all be fine with two, honestly the jump from one to two is nowhere near the shock to the system that none to one is. I'm hoping the same can be said for going from three to four. Wow - babies are all arriving/due so soon now, we've still got a wee while to wait until the end of June to meet our little boy.

The Dr's told me to slow down though as he has already 'dropped'/is engaged and quite a way down, that was at 34 weeks - so who knows he might arrive earlier.
