Jeep Overland can be one alternative single jogging stroller with fixed front wheel that might suit your needs. It's relatively easy to fold with efficient storage as it can be kept in stand-up position. I recommend all 3 as found different prams/strollers fit into our lifestyle as different stages of newborn.babies life and if sibblings come into the equation.

Safety 1st clik it wheels to go with capsule for newborn quick shopping trips etc

Mountain buggy fixed wheel or Phil *& ted explorer or e3v2 fixed wheel. I would buy 2nd hand to save a few bucks like GOOD 2nd hand esp if you guna thrash it in the running fields. (alot of 2nd hand are like mint cos they have only been for a few laps around the local mall) saves spending $800 when you might get it for $200-$400

& umbrella fold up job, but a sturdyer one with a decent basket like spend around $100-$120 from farmers seem to have the best deals on them, thats what we have.

I fuond it so good not to constantly have to lift the P&T in & out of car for trips into shops & bank etc and just used either wheels with capsule or stroller once 7m+ and left big pram set up at home in front porch for walks/runs etc

If you want to take your buggy out running and especially running off road you will need a mountain buggy.

Hubby and are i big runners and researched it quite carefully before buying and this was the only one really. The good news is that some people think the quality has gone down a bit on the new 'made in China' ones, so get a second hand one that was Made in NZ off trademe.

Mine is a 2005 and we've run 3-5 times per week with it most weeks including some offroad and beach runs. It is in great nick, only needed a new inner tube so far ($20). I don't think any other brand has such a study frame. I regularly get my 3.5 year old and 2 year and all the groceries on the poor old thing and it just handles it. Older boy balances on the foot rest or they cuddle in together under the storm cover. Even the canvas is still in good nick despite all this.

Dunno if I should mention it, since your car is only $800 but considering you spend more on your bike I'm thinking it might be worth mentioning.

I have a brand new MB Terrain. It is what I would totally recommend for runs in the Forrest. It has much bigger wheels, a hand brake and extra suspension in the frame not just the back wheels.

It cost about $750 brand new (ouch) on special. But I run a lot with DS and my MB Urban was just too bouncy for him. And considering he spends more time in the stroller than his carseat it was important for it to be safe and comfy.   The hand brake gives extra safety. So if you are as serious about running as cycling it would be the one for you.

Have a look on MB's website at the photos and reviews. Unfortunately this MB probably won't be for sale on TM because it is a newer model. The older Urbans were branded as Urban Terrain so it's a bit confusing.

I've been lucky in that I've been given a nature baby sling but it's the running in the forest that I would love a buggy for. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on TM and specials.

Have a look on TM Kiwiking - I got our P&T sport for $150 (About $800 new), and its in immaculate condition People often change their minds and just sell them to get rid of them - you just have to be patient and wait for a deal, took me about 6weeks of checking out TM eavery other night.

Sounds like you could be best with 2 buggies, one for here (doing your walks/runs etc) and then an umbrella stroller for when you travel (you can get these for about $150 MAX on sale)

Also agree a baby carrier could be a good option, I've just brought a Manduca after lots and lots of consideration. Bit harder for us as we dont have a slingbabies close - but you are more than welcome to check out my carrier before you purchase one

I have a Mountain Buggy Urban Elite. It is coming up 3.5 years old now and is still in fantastic shape. We went to Baby Factory and cheekily asked when they were due to go on special and got it for $500. They even let us take it out to the car to make sure it fit into the boot of the car without hassle. I have seen them on Trademe for $200 - $300. I would highly recommend them. Ours has been everywhere from the beach to forest walk tracks. It fits into the Air NZ large plastic bag when you take the back wheels off and collapses easily without you having to grow an extra pair of arms. Good luck

How exciting buying a stroller - and confusing as there are so many out there!

I agree with Hopes, Mountain Buggy are the best and there are lots of 2nd hand ones in Trademe. I especially think MB when you mention forest walks/jogs. I love my MB's (yes I have 3!). One each for running, shopping and on the farm.

But also agree with Pudgy, a baby carrier would be a great investment also. I've had a baby bjorn and an Ergo. Both are great but there are heaps out there. For a bargain keep an eye on Trademe. I got my baby bjorn for $50 and retail is around $200 I think!

But as to my brand of stroller (Mountain Buggy urban explorer), I don't think it's probably for you. It's got three wheels and will fit Jacob for a while yet, but although I've taken it on a plane it's by no means the most compact and while it wasn't $800 new it was over $500.
