Author: Babe
Subject: 40725
Posted: 16 October 2011 at 1:29pm

Nic its definitely improved since #1 if thats any consolation!! I kinda have more ways to get through it so while its tougher having littlies its also easier since I know what to expect plus I don't let anyone dick me round like they did first time

Well freezer is full of meals and instant kinda food like roasties and sausages. I can't cook meat AT ALL if it involves any prep coz I spend most of the time retching in the sink. My MW and doc have mentioned it being a mind over matter issue but obviously my mind doesn't like being on top :sigh: its all good though my mums been a legend so no worries in that department for a few weeks anyway

We're looking into a cleaner but TBH DH actually does a great job PLUS it looks like we'll qualify for homehelp coz of being so sick plus I've got SPD issues already so FX thats a go coz its free lol and it'd be very helpful!

I'm back on an Odansetron/Cyclizine cocktail so I'm actually managing to keep more fluids down now so thats helping me feel better too. I've also found that lots of sleep makes a difference too. Thanks to mum being here I've slept for 4-6hrs a day plus all night of course once shes gone that'll change but its def been a help while I've had the opportunity!!

I am lucky that DH is really helpful when he's here - he does the dishes in the evenings and does heaps on the weekends to help. We have a cleaner once a fortnight which is brilliant.

The only thing I would add to what's been said is that when I cook, I cook in BULK so that there's enough leftover for lunches the next day or even dinner (no complaints about same meal two days in a row allowed!). Stuff like a big pasta bake or pot of curry can go a long way. Even if I'm doing meat and vegetables, I cook loads of vegetables so that we can have them reheated the following night and all I need to worry about is meat - and I have the freezer stocked with "easy" meat like schnitzel and lamb chops, which DH can manage if I"m not feeling up to it :)

Good luck!

It wasn't up to my usual standard but it was pretty clean and tidy and that made such a difference! She even did the dishes which was wonderful.

Try really hard to get dinner in a slowcooker in the morning or whenever you are feeling good (if the time says 6-8hrs on low, you can put it on high for just 3-4, and if you cover it with a teatowel it cooks much faster too, so you don't need to worry about doing it first thing in the morning). If you can't handle the smell, put it somewhere else - in another room behind closed doors, or even in the garage or shed! I mean, why not? It's not going to upset the food at all.

Hope that helps, I feel your pain!! I hate being pregnant :(

Pop them in the fridge and get them out when you need them the next day. I would get the little compartment type ones and fill all the spaces with little snacks (mini sammies, cheese, crackers, cut up fruit, raisons, dried fruit & nuts for you, a couple of yummy treats) that you and the boys could snack on all day. Saves you having to make lunch etc

umm maybe set up some activity boxes (colouring, lego, cars, blocks etc) that you can get out and your DS's can play on their own?

Get a cleaner? not sure if that is a possibility but even if you could get one for a couple of hours once a week, just for the next few months (while you feel sick?) Ours used to cost $30 a week and she was fantastic.

will keep thinking...

Hope you feel better soon.
