Hi mjt,

Just wanted to add my story.

I got pregnant at 40 with IVF and we had our little girl, who sadly passed away. She had problems but nothing to do with IVF.

I'm now pregnant again and I'm 42 and due 3 February.

My advice would be to stay positive, cut down caffeine and alcohol, drink loads of water, eat pineapple (especially the middle) and brazil nuts. I started eating pineapple and brazils leading up to transfer and until I got my BFP.

I also had acupuncture leading up and following transfer.

My first cycle was natural and the second a frozen embryo.

Hi there,
I'm a newbie on this site and I have just registered here so that I could add my message of support to the members of this forum...
I had one cycle of IVF last year and our precious baby girl was born 4 months ago, just before my 42nd birthday

I wish I had some great advice or tips to share, but all I did was really cut down my caffeine and alcohol consumption to practically zero, plus I had regular acupuncture which is something I really would recommend.

But take heart ladies, there are success stories out there for the 40+ ivf'ers!

Good thread idea. No success story from me yet. I have just started my second IVF cycle.   I was sorry to read the results of your last egg collection. I have been more relaxed this cycle but I think that is because I know what to expect. Having said that I feel like my side effects have been more severe this time round.

Hi Girls...

Just wanted to start a post that focuses on us 40 plus ladies.

Any ideas? suggestions? even some good stories be good to hear and some tips/advice which we can share with each other. ie, What protocol etc you may of used, any supplements/vits other things you may of did before and during treatment that you think was the reason for your success, and maybe how many cycles before a bfp?
