Hi Mummies! I also have only just found out about these forums. My son (2nd child) was born on the 11 Sept 2012. With my first, I had the support of my coffee group but with the second, not only have i forgot the 'phases' but needing advise from mummies/daddies going through this with their kids at the moment.

Hi,

I only just found out about these forums.

I'm pregnant with a second baby who is due 27th September. Anyone else in the same boat with a second on the way and lives in Wellington region? I live in the hutt.

I had a c-section with my first child - Sebastian - as he was breach and I'm really hoping to have a natural birth this time around. The labour experience will be all new to me.

Hi everyone!

I am a first year nursing student in Wellington, and one of our topics this year is centered on pregnancy and the newborn. This assignment is about following a woman's pregnancy and observing the newborn. This is where I need some help! I don't know anyone who is pregnant right now, so o I thought I would turn to the dear old internet.

Looking for someone in the Wellington region. Porirua and Hutt Valley areas are fine - I can travel.

I must stress this is a hands-off task. It is purely an observation and information-gathering role. I would need to meet with the woman three times during pregnancy (once at an LMC visit) and once after the birth. Because of the school year, it would have to be someone whose due date is between late August and the beginning of October this year.

Hello! My due is Sep 15, 2012. I am so happy. I just feeling better in the last week.
I live in West Auckland and I am looking for a group of pregnancy women in this area. I am also learning English and I would be very happy to know a kiwi pregnant women to share some experiencies about pregnancy and share about the cultures.
I am from Costa Rica, my husband and I arrived 6 months ago and we will be living here for 18 months more.

hey lovely ladies! congrats to everyone who have had their first scan and loved it!!! i just had mine today, and i was extremely excited! i was giggling from excitement at the beginning that the poor doctor couldn't get the clear picture :) my baby was so active, was jumping around, moving his/her wonderful little arms and legs!!! i'm loving it and can't wait till my next scan already! i honestly had to see it with my own eyes to realise this is really happening! what a wonderful feeling!!!

Not been on here for a while as been on holiday - we were so lucky with the weather, it was bright sunshine and hot every day! DS had a great time playing in the sand and finally realised that the sea is not that scary after all, managed to get him in there by the end. Very grateful for a holiday after almost 4 years of hard slog working! Hoping for another short break before number 2 comes along!

I'm going for another scan next week because had some bleeding at the start, but I think it's ok now as the MS is bad at times, I'm guessing a good sign.

Has anyone else had really bad constipation?? This might be TMI but I got so bunged up I had a bit of bleeding now on laxatives so hoping it will improve.

Well done J&L on a good scan - yay!

Someone was saying they don't have a midwife yet (sorry can't remember who) - might be worth going to your GP as they can give you a form for a scan, prescriptions for folic acid etc and sometimes recommend someone who might be available in terms of a midwife. At least you could get your scan before you see her then.

Re finishing work, DH and I run our own business so it's reasonably flexible but the hardest thing will be finding someone to replace me who is reliable, going to advertise soon. Last time I finished work 4 weeks before, but had gradually reduced my hours from full time to part time to stopping which worked well. In the end DS was 10 days late so I was twiddling my thumbs at bit and getting bored and over it. Having said that a friend of mine gave birth at 36 weeks with her first baby, 2 days after finishing work, so I guess it depends how much time you would like off! This time I think I'll keep going full time till 36 weeks, then gradually reduce hours and see how I am by 38 weeks, if I feel ok I'll carry on for another week or two.

Right, going to go to bed after an exhausting 12 hour day at work, sleep well ladies!

Hi everyone. I am 12 weeks today with my second. I am due 13 September and we are not finding out. We didn't find out with DD and I really enjoyed the surprise.

I haven't posted in here because I've had a bit of a hard time with cramps and bleeding. I have my scan on Tuesday and I really hope everything will be ok.

It's really great to have people I can talk to as no one knows yet (except our parents). Congrats on the good scan J&Ls Mum!!

I have been getting lots of great advice over at the Twins forum, it's so hard to find info on the net.

My queasiness is starting to settle and I've been feeling ok the last couple of days, very tired and uncomfortable though. I am just so grateful it hasnt been worse with two bubbas in there.

Hi Guest welcome. Your 12 week scan is to test for issues like downs and other things which I can't remember I am having mine at 13 weeks I think as long as it is the 12-13 weeks it is ok.

Had my ob appointment yesterday so had a quick scan and baby was really really clear big so far measuring at 11 weeks I was just so glad to see a heartbeat and a baby after all that bleeding I had.

Can someone change the list for me my new due date is the 18th and my 12 week scan is on the 8th March.

Hope every one is feeling ok can't wait to be rid of this ms.

Hi girls, can i join this chat group? i'm in my 12th week. but i've been so tired lately - like all of you i think - that i couldn't even bring myself to using my laptop every day as i used to in my earlier days :) i read the whole thread, i think it's like 31 pages - and it feels like i've just chatted to all of you live. Congrats to all who are doing great!!!! very sorry for those who've become angel babies :(
i'm still having my MS, mostly just the nausea, and threw up a few times too - different times of the day. i can't wait when this stage is over...it's just weird being at work and feeling on the verge of rushing to the toilet :( i can't wait to tell my colleagues that i'm pregnant for 2 reasons - just to break my great news and to be able to ah and oh freely, without suspicious looks from my desk neighbours :)
also, i'm so late with my appointments...i only now started ringing around to find a MW. so many good ones are fully booked for September :) as as discussed here before, we're all having holidays babies - all conceived around x-mas ny time :) so i kind of found one that still has availability and she will let me know when we can meet. but i still don't have an appointment for my scan. do you think it's ok if i do my 12 week test later than on week 12? is it a dating scan? or just a check for heartbeat and general development of the baby?
does everyone have tummy growing? me too :) it's bulging quite funny now, but because i'm slightly chubby. i have 2 very slim friends and they only showed bigger tummy on week 20 :):):)
i also don't have any cravings for food. i just started to dislike any foods. i don't have appetite, but feel hunger - i don't even know how to describe it. even the most beautifully plated food doesn't produce any positive emotions in me :(
well, have written quite a lot. probably it was high time to share emotions with like-minded :):):)

I've setup a "password protected" forum. You'll find it on the main forum page at the bottom in the "private forums" section. I'll PM a few of you the password and then if any more want the password you can PM each other. Would also be good to check this thread now and then for any newcomers and point them towards the private thread if they seem legit :)

actually what we should do is have a due in sept public section (here) and then in our private pages the due in sept private section - so those wanting to share pictures and other details won't be seen elsewhere and will have a password for that area how does that sound?

yes Vivk, I have had a blocked nose too. Trying to lay low on here until my next appointment, but can't help clicking through when I get the email notifications.

Horrible MS this morning, was up early to get packed lunches ready then was so ill had to go and lie down and ended up being late for the kindy run ... happened last Tuesday too.
