My eldest son had a big blankey that he would not let out of his sight. I would have to sneak it out of his arms while he was sleeping, wash and dry it and then put it back before going to bed myself - the things we do! He still tells me that he loves blankey (although it's long been packed away)and he's 10! It was a soft velour type fabric and it went everywhere, even to childcare during the day and was dragged through dirt, sand pit, up and down play equipment. I couldn't bear the thought of cutting it up though

Good luck with your search, I hope you find what you're looking for!

And you're so right, I know she'd eventually be completely fine if her teddy (blanket/comforter) went missing, but it just brings her so much joy and security that possibly I might be the one crying if it was somehow lost lol!! Every time we even pick her teddy up and wiggle at her she giggles with absolute glee, holds out her gorgeous chubby little hands and waddles to embrace her teddy at speed! (she is only 15th months old) It's ever so cute and heartwarming! And now that I'm not breastfeeding anymore it seems to be the one wee friend that seems to comfort her when she is upset or if she falls over and hurts herself etc. I am definitely trying to introduce her to new special friends though, but it would just be so much easier if I could find more of her preferred one! Thanks so much IsaacsMum, I will definitely persevere :-)

We took DS1's dummy away when he turned 2, it was attached to "bunny". We thought the world would end, but no, he just transfered that attachement on to "rabbit" (no dummy, different toy). I could worry what we'll do if he looses "rabbit", but I figure he'll just shift his affections again.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone in Oz who could possibly go to a Toys R Us. So sad! I have looked online at their shop over there but sadly with no luck :( Thank you so much Danda08 for your helpful suggestion all the same. :-) Buttermum thanks for your great advice too, unfortunately it is the ears and the wee arms of the teddy as well as the blanket itself that our DD loves to chew on and snuggle into, not just the satin edging. It would be much easier if this was the only part she loved but alas it is the whole teddy and blanket combination that she is attached to. Thanks again both of you for your help and thoughtfulness, I really appreciate your comments :-)

If anyone else out there might happen to know how I might track down one (or even two!) more cuddly friends like this I'd be really grateful. Thanks!

She will only suck on the satin part of the blanket so it means I can have any blanket with satin on it and she's happy.
It was this reason I had to put away alot of blankets and cut up the older one as it makes the damn things so horrible and gross after being sucked on for ages.

Anyway my point being is that you may not have to worry about getting that exact blankie as anything with satin on it will do if that's what it is

I think she seems to know when I'm trying to sneak a different snuggly in however as I've tried a few others and she always seems to know that they're not 'her' teddy!! I'm really hoping that someone might have spotted one looking a little lonely on a shop shelf somewhere that hasn't been snapped up yet!!

I'd also be really happy to buy one off someone if they happen to have one that their daughter/son hasn't taken to for some reason! Even a different colour one.

I've even been searching online in Australia but still with no luck. I'd be so grateful for any more suggestions.

Thanks again 1stTime, I'll have a look at the Babycity ones asap. Gosh and at $10 it would definitely be worth trying! Thanks :-)

I am so worried that it will either get lost or worn out in no time at all, and am desperately trying to find another one (or two!) to rotate with her original, but can't find one anywhere!!

This is a picture of the exact teddy but unfortunately it is out of stock in this shop and anywhere else I have searched:
http://www.zodee.com/babies/osh-kosh/teddy/ba3019-sp/

I originally got ours from Farmers but sadly they don't sell them anymore. If only I'd known that she would choose this one as her favourite toy!!!

I'd be sooo grateful if anyone has any advice or has seen this teddy anywhere else! They also came in different colours... yellow, dark pink, baby blue and navy. Ours is light pink, but I'd even be happy to consider another colour as there'd be a fairly good chance that she might accept it regardless of being a different colour!!

Thanks soooo much :-)
