Yeah, definitely check them out. I don't know what any of the other doctors there are like, but Arlene was awesome. I couldn't find a doctor in Wellington that I liked for years and kept chopping and changing. Arlene was working at the after hours one night when I went in and I really liked her and she said she'd be happy to be my doc. Where abouts in Wellington do you live? I used to go to the Island Bay Medical Centre and my doctor there was Arlene Smith - she was fantastic. I don't have children yet so I can't say what she'd be like during pregnancy, but she was great when I said we were TTC - sent me for the required tests, gave me a book and put me on folic acid etc.

Also Island Bay Medical seemed to be a lot cheaper than many other Wellington doctors - half the price of those in the city. That wasn't the reason I went there, but it's good to know.

Hi,
I'm fairly new to Wellington and don't have a current GP as of yet.

Can anyone recommend a fantastic GP, especially in the realm of pregnancy as my partner and I are planning and need to have a good check up!
