I'll add in a vote for the Skip Hop Bags, I have a navy one that just looks like a satchel - and Just the right size to! Love that it hangs on the handles of the buggy.

Yep, we have a plain lack SkipHop and it has lasted very well will 4 years of constant use. We have a denim skip hop bag. I got DH a plain black skip hop nappy bag - lots of pockets for things, has clips that fit on the Phil and Ted pram handles and our other smaller travel pram.

When DD was a newborn I used a normal backpack. They're perfect for Dad's even have pockets for drink bottles and often a separate area to put wet/dirty nappies in.
