Rach... in my case I think Han was only eating desserts and fruit for almost a month before I decided to lay down the law... so no pressure to do it soon! Thats a really good idea about giving him cubes of veges will have to try that.

Posted on 25th July 2005 - so Han was almost exactly the same age as Jack when she did the same thing.

"Atleast you guys can put their behaviour down to an age thing, though I guess that doesn't make it any less annoying.
My little mongrel was refusing everything except fruit and dessert but I rang Plunket and implemented Operation "Take the power back" and now she eats anything I put in front of her or she goes hungry.
Was very sick of being walked all over but the plan seems to be working because she eats lots more and now sleeps through the night again! yay!!!"

That plunket nurse gave me advice that I have lived by since - It is your responsibility to provide the food, it is their responsibility to eat it.

Anyway, that is the tough version. Not for everyone!

No harm done. But I don't advise it as the little monkeys figure out soon enough that they will get what they want.
I had a similar problem... Han was teething and went off all veges etc and would only eat dessert/fruit. I went along with it for a while until I got sick of it and rang plunket and they said to just offer veges and if she doesn't want it then tough.
I'll try find the thread I posted in... but tough worked for me!

Last Saturaday Jack was sick (spewing and other end explosions) and is just back to his old self now. His appetite dropped a bit but hes always eaten heaps so it wasn't too bad and he was drinking heaps. Now he is refusing veges as this is what he was spewing up. How do I get him back onto veges and meat. I have snuck in a few spoons of mince here and there for iron this week but hes figured out mince isn't nice. I have tried every different flavour and made up a batch of kumera and pumpkin pureed but no he won't eat it. He has never ever refused anything before this.

Any ideas for getting him back on veges?
