Thanks for the replies. I've got a good list now to add to the ipod. I'm just going to be having it playing as background noise. I quite like the idea of it being on shuffle and will try and remember to notice what is playing when baby comes out.

make sure you have a variety of beats and rhythms. i didnt with my boys just had the hospital stereo on. it was nice to focus on the radio between contractions specailly the likes of talk back radio where you are trying to listen to what someone is saying so much you try to ignore the contractions lol.

next time I will have a playlist as we are planning to have homebirth and our radio doesnt get great reception.

I've made up a playlist on my iPod to take with me if I feel like it.

Is anyone planning on taking music in to be played during their labour? I think this is a really good idea, bit of distraction perhaps...
